Hey I have been on 6mp for about two months and has worked wonders. Last week had my bloods done and my wcc and neutrophils where low. So was asked to stop the drug for a week which I did. I had a repeat blood yesterday and have the results today. The wcc and neutrophils are normal now. But my ALT has gone from normal to 168 in a week! Despite being off it, have to remain off it and repeat bloods in a week.

I feel absolutely crap right now I am so worried about it that it made me physically sick.

Wondered if anyone else has been here before.

I had elevated liver results (possibly the same test and I have no idea what the levels were) but it coincided with drinking a couple of days before. Is there anything you may have had that could have caused your liver results to go high?

Hey normal ALT levels are about 20-60ui/ml of blood. Nope I don't drink smoke or do anything to cause a rise, that's what is so concerning. I'm just hoping its not PSC, although I am sure I would have other symptoms if it was.

I've had spikes in my Liver function tests, due too taking Aza, at the time my dosage was about 200mg, I felt like I had a hangover most mornings.

As a result I was taken of the Aza for a period of time, think about a month until the levels returned to normal, didn't help the Crohn's one bit though. Since then I've been on a reduced dosage and have been taking Allopurinol as well, which supposedly slows down the rate at which my body metabolize the Aza so that I don't need a higher dosage. The up shot is my ALT's have remained normal since, you might find it ends up being something similar.

Don't worry too much, liver enzymes can spike sometimes. If It continues and nothing else in your life has changed its likely the med and either it can be lowered or an alternative is warranted.

Thanks I had an mrcp scan last week so just waiting on the results. My bloods last had almost gone back to normal so probably nothin to worry about I hope.
