I know this is the next thing they're going to push hard because patents on infliximab and humira are expiring. If this gets approved, God help your soul if you hurt people in the process for profits.

Amen. He couldn't have been clearer in the last two paragraphs, especially with the need for caution and the comparison to Tysabri and how it's side effects unfolded during trials. Thanks for posting this.

The same people behind the tysabri and vedolizumab trials said in 2011 that combo therapy is, and I quote:

Combination therapy with immunosuppressives and tumour necrosis factor antagonists is likely the best strategy for achieving optimal outcomes in patients at high risk of disease progression.

Which we now know is false, since combo therapy carries much more risks than monotherapy, and many people before 2011 warned of this because they knew it would greatly increase the risks. Combo therapy was used without any need in the past and greatly increased side effects. It was another decision that was just as stupid as the tysabri trials. People like that who have made these mistakes and have on multiple occasions endangered the lives of people with crohn's disease and killed people with crohn's disease should no longer be allowed to practice medicine.
