I guess it took me spending the day in the ER in the city for it to happen :eek2:

Went in to the ER yesterday because my bloating and pressure was just so intolerable. I couldn't take it anymore, got hubby to take me in to the city. Doc helped me get the pain and nausea under control, and talked to the GI department. I have an appointment Fri morning! He was also kind enough to refill my T4s (I ran out the other day and I hate asking for more, feel like a seeker :( ) Here we go, first step to hopefully treating this pain and maybe I can find out what it is

I hope you get to see a good doctor! Bear in mind that often doctors are wary to speculate about diagnosis or initiate treatment until tests have confirmed what's wrong. The first appointment with a specialist is usually about them recommending what tests you need. But hopefully this appointment will move things along and you'll get some answers very soon.

Thanks all!
I do know it's a consult. I have had a ton of tests already run by my family doctor. Ultrasounds, Xrays, and a virtual colonoscopy. I have yet to have a traditional colonoscopy done. Been to a general surgeon twice and both times he sent me back to my family doc.
I'm just pissed off that is has taken this long to get an appointment in the first place :( My work has suffered, my house has suffered, and I'm just in more pain daily :( I am very happy I have an amazing husband who is sticking by and helping as much as he can :)

Saw the GI this morning. Will be in for a sigmoidoscopy sometime in the next week-ten days. He says it can be one of 2 things. There is a colitis that is associated with diverticulosis (which I have) or crohns. Hoping to have answers real soon :D

That sounds promising! (Though - perhaps I shouldn't say this - but saying it's one of two options sounds far too simple to be true. Medical conditions tend to be numerous and complicated - but maybe that's just my experience. ;) )
