I have been so happy with the GI I have been seeing lately and just wanted to post about him.
I have only been seeing him for about 3 weeks (I had to break down and go to a doc after my most recent flare. I had not been to a GI in over three years, even though I have had Crohns for six years).
I have been to 3 office visits already and the doctor appears to be very concerned about me. He always takes lots of time with me and answers all of my questions. He seems to give good advice, but he also takes a lot of time to listen to me and to see what it is that I want. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes past my appointment time.
When I told him I might want to try LDN, he was honest and told me that he was unfamiliar with it as a treatment for Crohn's, but he was more than willing to research it. He thought it was very interesting. I offered him a copy of a research study and he said he wanted to read it. He said he might even correspond with the author of the study about my case. He said that because it is a safe medication, he would prescribe it for me, though he also made sure to explain that I should not expect it to be a miracle cure.
We all need docs like this one, and I just feel lucky that I was able to find him. I hope all of you find docs who care about you and care about the most recent research on this disease.
