Hello Everyone:

My GI thinks I have crohn's, but won't know for sure until I get the results back from the barium Ct scan and my future cscopy. In the meantime I'm just curious of probable treatments or what is the most common drug line up? I get flares that last for only few hours about every month to every couple of months with bloody D and RLQ pain that diminishes with a BM. Other times I have C and sometimes just normal BM. I consider myself lucky in that my case isn't as severe as other people's cases. I'm just worried the GI doc is going to put me on shots or infusions. I hope not because I don't think I'm that serious although serious enough to get help. So what kind of treatment do you think I'll get? Thanks. And peace to you all! :confused2:

Hi llake

To be honest I'd be hesitant to predict what your doc will give you, just because there are so many different courses that treatment can take. Most likely you will start on prednisone or similar steroid to get the inflammation under control. From there you will hopefully be able to find a medication which will put you into remission relatively quickly. But whatever happens, keep your head up and remember that there are many treatments out there, and hopefully one of them will work for you in the long term. Best of luck.
