What are the Spider veins?

Spider Veins are tiny blood vessels appears in red,blue and purple in color mostly found on the face and in legs.Due to this there is heavy feeling in your legs,itching around one or more of your veins,A painful cord in the vein with red discoloration of the skin.

I just read from a thread from four years ago that sometimes our veins can get inflamed.
