This is one reason I don't go out because it's embarassing to keep using the restroom. What do you do when your around tons of people you know, and they see you going to the restroom 2 times close together or 6 times or more? What are you supposed to do?

This is such a depressing disease. I can't even go out dancing tonight with my sister because I know clubs are always packed and there's always lines in the restroom and I'd need to use it NOW not LATER! Plus I can't drink any vodka like I used to or anything. I could still go out to have fun but I've been on Lialda 10 weeks+ and I'm still not better. The doc knew I didn't have insurance and only put me on one medication to get better but I'm still waiting on disability because obviously I can't get better as fast as I want and I can't even work or go out to wait in line at the grocery store!!! Your probably thinking I should set up an appointment but I have $0 for an appointment! Can't qualify for medicaid until disability pays me it seems :(

I'm in the same boat I always feel like I need a poo so going to shops or going out is out of the question as long as I know there is a toilet nearby I will go there but if there is no toilet its a no go zone.

Once I had to go the toilet several times during a shoping trip and generaly looked pale and sick and was asked at the register if I was ok and if I needed a doctor I just said its normal for me.

I hate all the dirty public toilets so I don't go out unless I really have to it sucks I'm 29 and have no social or work life

I'm 23 and was just diagnosed :( I got fired because I was diagnosed with Crohns, then unemployment denied me and have been waiting on disability for 3 months already. I had to quit college and was 2 classes away from a career where I could work from home!!!! I don't have a social life either......when I go out it's for short periods of time. I also can't have anyone except my boyfriend or sister in the car with me because it's embarassing making stops etc.....

I know what your going through I got into remission for abit last year and had to see a councilor to help me get over the anxiety I was having to go out it was that bad I didn't wanna leave my house as I couldn't stand looking for a dirty toilet somewhere

I know all about it the reason I hate the toilets here in OZ is most of the time there single cubicle and mos of the time theres no paper or some other ahole has pissed all over the seat and you can't sit down or you go in and theres crap all over the places.

Oh i'm male so don't really know what the female toilets are like but sometimes I have ducked into womens toilets a few times when i was teally desperate and they were so much nicer

Nah no anxiety meds she helped me get over it just by talking out

dette I know exactly what your going through I hate going out for dinner as it always ends bad and I end up leaving early most of the time

What degree were you heading towards Crohns2011? Depending on what career you're heading to sometimes you might be able to find an online college where you possibly could finish your degree...

Also, a lot of community colleges have online classes which might be less expensive. I know this doesn't help any job wise, but I hope it could help you in the long run.

I was working towards a certificate in Medical Transcription, I can ONLY go on FULL FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID because I've never had anyone to help me. The community college I went to is doing the last 2 semesters fully online which would help but I couldn't even make it to class ONCE a week for a full 4 hours that's why I had to drop out :( Yes the class was 4 hours long.
After this I take 2-3 classes and I have my Associate of Science degree for being there for too many years taking too many health classes and switching my majors so much! Hope someone helps me with money since the college is trying to make it to where I can't receive any financial aid because I "Exceeded Maximum Time" for being there........yeah went many many years

So I'd have to make it back to the first semester and hope during the 4 hours once a week that I wouldn't get a flare up :( I'm still in a flare up and it's been 10 months almost :(

I have this trick when going in a public bathroom, and it's called "building a nest" lol. Basically you just put a bunch of TP in the toilet so when you go, it lands on the toilet paper and doesn't make noise lol.

Works like a charm!

I don't care about how it sounds when I go, I'm more concerned about people seeing me going to the restroom many times in a row or throughout a party etc.... :(

I'm sorry:( Was hoping that might help. Hopefully you'll be able to get yourself figured out soon. I've been running this marathon flare for over a year now. However, mine seems to go back and forth between getting better and then getting worse. Take care.
