What is a partial bowel obstruction?

Stenosis is just the medical term for a stricture.

I think a partial obstruction is just as it sounds. You are partially blocked.

Umm, painful? The partial obstruction is what happens when the stricture actually impedes the flow through the bowels and something hangs up, but still allows some of the contents through.

that's what I thought re stricture ctrl z... but my GI has said he thinks I have a stricture but the CT enteroclysis says there is no evidence of obstruction or stenosis.. :-s

Ahh ok. Yeah... the two words are interchangeable. Stenosis/stricture.

Congrats on not having a stricture :)

weird thing is though is the GI said that AFTER reading the report! Also said there was no inflammation where the report says "There does appear to be some enhancement of the distal small bowel wall extending to the terminal ileum consistent with some inflammation" go figure :-s

How long have you had your disease? You may possibly have had inflammation that led to scarring, causing the narrowing. There may not be active inflammation there any longer. just a thought...
