When i go to the toilet i have diarrhoea and i look in the bowl and see a water white liquid around the edge of the water. Im thinking it might be mucus but i thought it was more a thicker jelly like substance? this is quite watery although it floats on the surface and sometimes contain slight bubbles like a tiny bit of soap foam
Any one know what this is?
I will mention it to my dr at my next appointment but i would rather be able to name what it than describe it to him so ill take it out on all of you first lol
thanks

Sorry for the details :S

i dont think im flaring atm. just having the usual diarrhea and slight stomach pains (nothing major at all) and i have puked twice

I honestly dont know but would venture a guess of mucus or just unabsorbed fats. Personally I've gotten tired of trying to describe to my doctors what everything feels like as well as trying to describe what it looks like as well. I finally broke down and just took them some photographs the last time I went to the office and it makes life a little easier.

Where they ok with photographs? not comepletly horrified? ive only met my new consultant once and would be quite sure what to do but would probably be alot less graphic than me trying to explain this.
Hope you get a diagnoses soon,
thanks for the quick reply

hey guys, ive got the muccus too,i bet your consultant has seen and heard it all before.my gi nurse even jokes she has the shitiest job in the world and i tell her with the shitiest patients :)

Sounds like mucus I get the same (as well as it looking like Ive blown my nose on the tissue when I wipe). My mans a dr and looked at mine once (Sounds so gross I know - hes a wonder!!) and he said its mucus. Obv I cant be sure with yours cos I havent seen it, but what u describe does sound like it......

Seems like a LOT of us get this! You're not alone, try not to worry but be sure to mention it to your GI!!!

Hope you're ok!

I did get a couple of shocked looks when I whipped out the photos, but the way I look at it is if they are working for me I want them to have the best possible means to come up with an accurate diagnosis. Course though still being undiagnosed is quite the rub. However the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words", does apply in situations like these.

Aloysius - that's BRILLIANT! Lol, good thinking! If I was your GI I'd be simulataneously amused but grateful for some photographic help - good on you!!! :)
