I am trying to make a connection to Crohn's and Seasonal Allergies(HayFever, Grass, Ragweed) etc... My thought is that it could be that the allergies are creating the inflammation??? I have started to take allergy pills(Reactine) for the nect 2 weeks(one a day) to see if it makes a difference.. Or has anyone one on allergy shot and seen improvements in their crohns. Both Crohn's and Allergies effect the immune system.... Any thoughts or experieriences ??????

I have allergies, mostly in the Fall of the year. It is either Ragweed or Mold, possibly both.

It is worse when it rains which makes me think mold, but the skin prick test shows Ragweed.

I think that allergies may be the result of Crohn's, or more specifically a leaky intestinal tract, but I have no solid evidence or theories on the whole allergy thing. Far more questions than answers.

I have been getting 2 allergy shots weekly for the last 13 months (recently down to once every 2 weeks)!!! I also take allergy medication every day, all year round. I am allergic to just about everything (tree and grass pollen, dustmites, cats, mold, ragweed) except dogs.

No, I have never suffered from allergies. This is a blessing to be honest. My wife does, so I see how irritating they can be.

I have had allergies all my life, but they have gotten worse since the Crohn's came along. Much worse.

oh creepy dontcha know?
they are called Colonus Insectius Bumblus.
they pollinate our colons for us.
duh.

I've had allergies for about 20 years now. I hate everything about them! I have them all year long. IN the winter, it's the dust and whatever that's in the house. All the other seasons have pollen, mold, and who knows what else hanging around in the air. I take Loratadine(I think that's Claratin) for them and has worked wonderfully for me for the past 3-4 years. It's a 24-hour pill.

i've had allergies all my life and have CD (definitely seasonal allergies, and a lot more that i can't even list because i forgot some of them - too many!)... although, i've noticed some improvement with my allergies since the Crohn's symptoms became worse.

i used to get needles when i was a kid...but that stopped when i moved.

it's like CD symptoms trump the others lol

I was diagnosed with Crohn's in March 2009, but i have had seasonal allergies all my life. I have numerous allergy triggers, but I've never gone through the allergy testing to get a definite answer on what they are.

Have you ever seen those allergy commercials where the allergies are like, these monster things? I bet that's what the pollen that gets into our intestines looks like. :p
