Hi guys,

Currently coming off Pred and symtoms are starting to creep up again on me from Crohns, such as the need for the toilet :/
I am waiting on starting Humira within the next few weeks and just wondering if it puts a stop to the above??

Any thoughts welcome

Sam

I had terrible diarhea while i was tapering the prednisone, and now i am down to 10 mg. I started Remicade, and the first time it worked miracles for me, but after that it just stopped working, so now i am on humira. Monday will be my fourth shot, because the first two were loading doses. I can tell you that i feel a signifcant difference in the number of times i go to the bathroom, but the progress is a little slower than i expected after seeing the remicade work so fast, but the doctor said it may take awhile before you see anything dramatically change for you. I wish you the best and hope you get better, sorry for the long story lol

Thanks for that Naddie! gives me some comfort in knowing that things will hopefully get easier with Humira..
:)

I've been on Humira whilst coming off of Entocort but as the weaning off Entocort has increased so have the CD symptoms. And sadly my diarrhea is a bad as ever if not worse. However IMO the Humira has helped stop the reformation of strictures because I've gone 6mths now since balloon dilation & that is a record for me(usually a few weeks before they are back.
Having a colonoscopy next week, I think they'll probably put me on Humira weekly.

Weekly injections have made a huge difference for me. So much so I'm now going to wind it back to every 10days. Humira is such good stuff (assuming it works for you/etc).

Thanks Grant, I hope things change for the better soon mate.
Beth I hope really hope I take to Humira as well as yourself, we shall see.. (crossed fingures)

My son started Humira the last week of January 2011. He had an allergic reaction on third dose of Remicade. He gets it every other week. His stools have decreased to once a day...occasionally twice. No more blood or cramps and his SED and CRP numbers have returned to normal. The only thing I'm confused on is the look of his stools. Skinny and soft and sometimes just pieces. He has toxic gas often. Is that ok? Is that as normal as he's going to get since he has crohns? Last summer he did a round of Prednisone...only worked once for him...but his stools looked absolutely normal. He's still on Pentasa...I was wondering if that could be the culprit. Any thoughts?

well for me the Pentasa actually caused me alot more diarhea than i had to begin with so the doctor just took me off of it and i was just fine, Now i am on a low dose of prednisone with humira and slowly tapering off the pred. My doctor will start me on entocort next after i am down to 7.5 pred:)
