I havent posted here in a while but I thought I would because I have found that two things worked for me.

1) The biggest thing that helped me was to completely eliminate eating all corn based food items. I check all ingredients of the food I eat and I wont eat anything if it has, corn syrup, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Corn Meal, etc. That made a huge difference and if you are having pain you may want to consider eliminating corn products.

Once you start looking at the ingredient lists you would be amazed on how much corn is in all foods. Even bread and frozen yogurt contain corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup.

2) While I had pain symptoms with my crohns I found the medical cannibis help quite a bit to ease my pain. However once I cut out the corn based products out of my diet I didnt need anything for pain anymore.

Again this worked for me. Take it or leave it, its up to you.....

A lot of the corn nowadays is also genetically modified. No one knows for sure what effect that will have on humans, especially someone who's guts are on the edge already.

It may be the corn itself, or it may be the type of corn that causes problems. Who knows?

Thats so awesome. I think that a lot of this disease can be allergy driven. What is an allergy, but an over active immune response. Especially since crohns is a leaky gut issue and proteins can make it to your blood stream without being properly filtered. Since the site this occurs at is the gut, then it could basically cause your immune system to go after it. This is only my opinion. Finding whatever that allergy is can be extremely difficult as its not going to be the same for everyone. Good for you, You found it!

I agree about the GMO corn. We really have no idea what the ramifications are.

I've recently been doing my best to avoid corn in any of its forms and found it did help a bit. It really is ridiculous how much it's used.

Yes they put Corn and its derivatives in almost everything. Its technically in the meat that you eat because cattle are on a corn based diet.

I read that the GMO (genetically modified) corn that is insect resistant has been modified by inserting a pesticide molecule into the corn, thats why its insect resistant. If that is the case then when someone eats corn based products they are also eating pesticides. I can imagine that is very good for you or your intestines.

Another one that I avoid is soybeans because they have also been genetically modified. And the list of GMO is going to get larger.

BTW, I have been in remission for over 2 years now.....
