Worst dramatically

I have uc recently diagnosed. My medication wasn't working so doctor put my dose up to 2 sulfasalazine tablets 4 times a day. I felt better for a few weeks but now have suddenly become really nauseous and my symptoms have worsten dramatically. Is this normal? I have no idea what's happening. I have an app with my gi next Friday not sure if I should wait till then or call him.

Thank you for your reply. I was just thinking that the past few nights I have forgotten To take my medication with food could this have anything to do with waking up in the middle of the night nauseous?
