Would they give you surgery without insurance or up front payment?

I think if it is something that you have to have then probably. Although, I am not totally sure. You could always call the local hospital where you would have it done and talk to them. A lot of hospitals have some type of assistance program for people.

If its an emergent thing, I don't think they could turn you down.

Are you in the US? If it's an emergency, they can't turn you away. But if it's scheduled, they will probably require up-front payment. Or maybe a certain % up front and a payment schedule set up.

If it's not an elective surgery, they CANNOT turn you away. There are plenty of ways to go about getting assistance but I know I've already been down that road with you before.

If it's an elective surgery which you have to go through several steps to get to that point(your only on lialda now so you'd have to try 6mp, remicade, humera ect ect) It has to be discussed in length because a total colectomy can cause problems with conceiving later in life.

If you have an emergency such as toxic megacolon, a rip/tear in the intestine, even some absesses and fistuleas can be emergency surgeries a hospital can not turn you away. If that happens you'll receive a bill up front unless you ask the check in nurse(they come around asking for emergency contact info, insurance info ect) if they have a hospital fund for people who don;t make very much money. Being on food stamps helps your case.

I don't want to conceive at all later in life. I've never wanted children so if anything happens I'll be fine with it. I'm positive I never want kids :) I'm not childless I'm childfree and happy with my choice :)
