    Having a rough time

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm sorry you're dealing with this too, and hope that things get better soon! I originally thought that I had picked up the c diff at the hospital - between the colonoscopy and the eleventy-three IV antibiotics they gave me. But the docs now think that I had...

    Having a rough time

Hi guys, I've posted quite a bit about my lovely ordeal in other threads, so I'll give you the short version here: I've been sick since April. Serious pain/cramping, diarrhea, bleeding, and the like. The doctors can figure this thing out. I had a colonoscopy two days after this all...

Not sure what is going on??

Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear that you've been so sick for so long. Just a quick thought - have you been tested for c diff? People often pick it up when broad-spectrum antibiotics destroy competing intestinal flora. It can seriously wreak havoc on your gut. C diff tends to cause severe...

Keep fighting. But feel like quitting.

Hey Fighter. I'm a mess myself and unfortunately can't offer any real advice. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone - I'm feeling the exact same way in terms of the guilt, the burden on my (amazingly) supportive boyfriend and family, job stress, and the like. This is so hard. But...

    Frustrated and confused

That is really interesting - thanks. I haven't showed the rash to any of my doctors since all of this happened - honestly, I just haven't thought about it. But I'll definitely show it to the new GI. Hope you have a good night. And thanks again for all all of your help. :)

    Frustrated and confused

Indeed!! My GP thought it was foliculitis, but it hasn't responded to any of the treatments she has tried, and I just sort of gave up and stopped bothering her about it. Also, not sure if this is relevant, but I get the same thing on my scalp - really itchy and scaly, but it comes and goes...

    Frustrated and confused

Thanks so much for your replies, David and PsychoJane. You really are incredibly awesome. The CT scan showed "inflammation". They did the scan my first day in the hospital, before the colonoscopy or anything, when they had no idea what was going on. I haven't heard anything else about it...

    Frustrated and confused

Hi guys. I've written a lot over the last couple of months. You have really helped me out, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I promise that this is the last time I'll bother you all, especially since it now appears that I don't even belong here. Basically, about seven weeks ago...

    CT vs. sigmoidoscopy?

Thanks do much for the advice, guys. Unfortunately, I got some interesting news from the doctor today that kind of changes everything. Basically, they no longer think I have CD after all, and kind of don't know WHAT is wrong with me. I'm going to write a separate post on that, because I'm...

    Question about the color Green

For what it's worth, I've heard the same as psychojane - I always thought green poo meant the material wasn't spending enough time in your system. I've had this too, and was told not to worry about it too much, that it's just another charming side effect of things moving through your system too...

    Normal sex life?

Hi Heather, Saw the doc today - she now wants to wait until I'm done with the flagyl to re-test for the c diff, so that's about another week. I'm doing a lot better, though. My mom came from NY to see me over the weekend! We sat on the couch in our pajamas watching south park and just...

    CT vs. sigmoidoscopy?

Hi guys, I've written about this a ton over the last few weeks... the short version: I'm currently struggling with my first (diagnosed) CD flare, and picked up c diff whilst in the hospital. I've been taking flagyl for the past three-ish weeks for the c diff, and have about another week left...

    Just so upset

Hiya. Unfortunately, I've been on flagyl for about three weeks, and am just now starting to feel sort of like a human being again. My situation is a bit different, though, because I was ust diagnosed with CD immediately before testing positive for the c diff (had tested neg previously), so the...

    Just so upset

Oh, sweetie. I feel you. I've been struggling with a flare and c diff for two months. It's just awful. I've been home for weeks in a Vicodin-ey haze... I can't imagine what it would be like if I was expecting on top of it. Do they have you on anything for the c diff? I'm taking Flagyl -...

    Normal sex life?

And... I'm back. Ate a bit more today than yesterday, think that's helped somewhat. I'm so, so tempted to just eat normal food (have been on white rice and bread for almost 2 months), since I'm just going to get sick anyway, right? I just wanted to check in and thank you again. Seriously...

    Normal sex life?

Thank you guys so much for your help. I'm sorry I haven't responded before now. I've just been really under the weather the last few days, and am really having a hard time with all of this. My doc is talking about admitting me to the hospital again (I talked her out of it last week). I've...

    Normal sex life?

Thank you all so much for your replies and advice. Had a really bad day today. I work part time as a freelance classical musician in addition to my day job; had a double today - 3 hour rehearsal near home, followed by a concert for a different gig that was 2 hours away. I was feeling ok in...

    Non-IBD health-related question

Oh, ick. Sometimes the worst cases of whiplash come from low-speed collisions. Take it easy! Warm baths/showers really help. So do gummy bears, for some reason. I really hope tomorrow isn't too bad for you. Thinking happy thoughts. :)
