I'm sorry to hear that ron50. Hope the biopsy comes back clear and I hope the steroids help and don't mess with the diabetes too much. It can but I hope it won't since it will likely be a short course of steroids. Keep us posted. I was diagnosed with Osteopenia. I'm not surprised since I had...

    How are you feeling today?

My Grandpa passed away before my birthday in early April so I had to help with the funeral then try and heal some myself but then my sister and her family decided that they would be moving to Washington around that same time so I was helping them with the move. I watched their baby almost...

Has SCD diet helped anyone with IBD?

alchemy diet and medications can help put someone into clinical remission which means that there's no evidence of inflammation. If the diet or medication were to stop then it's very possible for the inflammation to return which means that the disease itself was never actually cured. I've been in...

My Grandpa had a Massive Stroke

My Grandpa passed away the other day around 2:00 am. The funeral is next Tuesday. I don't really have anything to write or share right now and I've had a hard time going online at all so my activity on the forum is going to be a bit spotty, this is the first time I've logged on since.

    Lemon flavour moviprep

I've always mixed the prep with a clear liquid like Sprite or Squirt (Squirt is actually my go to mix, not sure if you have a similar beverage in the UK, it's a grapefruit flavored soda, the bubbles always help to get it down) then chase it with Gatorade. I do a half and half mixture with the...

Crohn's does have it's ups and downs. You could go into remission but you can never predict a flare. I'd continue with trying for disability until you're in a stable remission and feel that you can go back to work later on. Sometimes we have good days during a flare but the disease itself is...

My Grandpa had a Massive Stroke

I'm sorry to hear that DougUte. :( It's been a roller coaster ride for us of him getting better, then not so good, then good again to slowly becoming someone else and then just completely downhill. It's really hard and I'm sorry that her father, her, you and your family went through that. *HUGS*

The Computer hate it or love it?

I grew up with the old Apple computers in the computer lab in elementary school but didn't really start using computers and going online until I was 16. It took a little time to get used to and there's so many different commands I don't quite know but I get by just fine. Computers, tablets and...

Inability to Absorb B12 INCLUDING Injections

~350 or just over 300. Something rather odd has happened and I'm not sure what the cause is exactly. So the day after my shot I mentioned that my B12 was at 1202, I got the results from the blood test for a week after the injection and it says that my B12 was 1436. It shot up even more and...

    Help im suffering

Good luck with your appointment! I'm glad you were able to get in quickly. Every doctor has a cancellation list for emergencies but if it weren't soon enough and the pain was as bad as you described then going to the ER/hospital is your next best bet.

    Help im suffering

I support going to the hospital if you can't get in touch with your GI. They should do some tests to see if maybe it could be hemorrhoids, a fissure or possibly an abscess. Are you seeing blood as well?

    Smoking....bad or good!?

If you have UC and quit smoking then it could cause you to flare so be sure to switch to another form of getting nicotine like the gum, patch etc and discuss quitting with your GI. Research is still ongoing for better ways to use nicotine as treatment for UC. For Crohn's nicotine does the...

    Advice appreciated before docs appointment

Hi Starnett and welcome to the forum! :) I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well but I hope that we'll be able to help you through this. I'm going to tag valleysangel92 to see if she has any suggestions on how to go about getting a colonoscopy with biopsies and an upper endoscopy in the...

My Grandpa had a Massive Stroke

My grandpa is now on Hospice. A bit late I think. He's declining VERY fast. He can't eat and can barely drink anything. I visited him yesterday and he slept the whole time and we couldn't wake him up. I saw him today on Easter and he was constantly yelling jibberish and would randomly say out...

Inability to Absorb B12 INCLUDING Injections

Catherine my last lab result says that my Folate is 15.7 (according to this lab, normal range 7.0-31.4 ng/mL). I had blood work done the day after my B12 injection and my B12 shot up to 1202 which is very high but that's expected after a shot. I had my blood work done a week later but haven't...

Predinsolone, should i reduce to 25mg or listen to my body?

Keep in mind that you were prescribed a certain amount of medication so a main concern would be possibly running out of medication if you don't stick to the taper schedule. What you could do is lower the dose as prescribed and alter your diet to a low residue diet or possibly even a liquid diet...

    Disability/Unemployment/Financial Difficulties Support Group

No you don't. Your child's doctor will have paperwork to fill out but you bring it to them once you get the paperwork from Social Security. Start by getting the paperwork and look it over. After everything gets sent in then your child will have a mental examination with a doctor of Social...

Can I use Appetite Control Capsules?

Lstewart, how long have you been on Entocort and what dose? When taken long term it is possible to start seeing similar side effects that Prednisone can cause. I wonder if maybe some physical therapy would help you bring back some strength and will also help with any aching joints. Plus it gets...
