Very interesting. What is the best way to learn about the Paleo diet?

    New Treatments

I will look up the studies but anti tnfs are a more broad spectrum drug. They are sorta like pred nisone in respect to where they act in the immune system. Stelara is more specific biologic. Stelara has been out for less time than tnfs, but so far the studies do not show as many risks as anti...

    Low dose Prednisone

I've actually seen two rheumatologists. It's really a gray line. One says just stay on low dose Prednisone because I think I also have other joints affected. When I come off the pred I get achy joints and worsening knee swelling. I have tmj pain which I think might also be an arthritis because...

    New Treatments

I was given the option for stelara because of it's safety profile. The only reason it is not considered first is because it is only newly approved for Crohn's. Most docs are not comfortable prescribing this med because it is so new. There is no reason why stelara can't be used firstline.

Stelara is the only one I tried. Been on it for 4 weeks.

    New Treatments

Are there any new biologics coming out in the pipeline for Crohn's? Kinda worried that this stelara might not end up working.

    Stelara every 4 weeks!

Wow AJM. That is very interesting. At what center do you get treatment? Sounds advanced.

    Stelara infusion -exhaustion

Ahh I see. Hopefully it is the stelara. However, it takes a minimum of 3 weeks to a few months to see results of Stelara. Unfortunately it is probably the steroids.

    Stelara infusion -exhaustion

Wow. Glad to hear! The joint swelling went away that fast? I only experienced a mild improvement in joint swelling. It has been 3 weeks since my infusion.

I had no symptoms after my infusion.

    Iron

I met with a hematologist and I think he will likely recommend injectafer infusion. Kinda sux. Although I have only been taking the iron for 4 months but the Crohn's has only been really treated for a little over 3 months. Maybe I need to wait a bit longer to determine if oral supplements work...

    Iron

Hi all. I have had a mild anemia on iron supplements (325mg iron sulfate twice daily). I have been on it for a few months. I have also only been recently diagnosed with Crohn's. Last I checked the iron sulfate didn't seem like it was helping much. I did notice that my iron tablets are enteric...

    Knee Swelling

It's not peripheral neuropathy. No symptoms or signs of neuropathy. Also no reason for me to have neuropathy.

    Knee Swelling

Thank you Maya for the advice. I will probably settle for a knee injection if the stelara doesn't work soon. Reason why I am so hesitant is because I developed a meniscal tear a few months after a knee injection. However that was likely due to long standing knee inflammation before I was...

    Uceris

Uceris releases in the colon whereas entocort releases in the small intestine.
  18. N

    Uceris

Ahh. Why not entocort? That's for small intestine.
  19. N

    Uceris

Why Prednisone? Uceris has less side effects.

    Low dose Prednisone

I am on bridge therapy with 5mg Prednisone for knee swelling and waiting until the stelara works for knee swelling. I have been on this dose for knee swelling for 4 months. One doctor says I should discontinue while another says it is fine to stay on a little longer until the stelara works. What...
