Our primary insurance is covering it with a $75 copay per injection. Did our third loading dose last week and now go to every 8 weeks. Finger, toes and eyes (if it would help) crossed. J.

    504 Plans--Educate me please

Rachel - We've had a 504 since 1st grade and I'm thankful. It just ensures that everyone is on the same page. We have most of the accomodations everyone has mentioned and yes, the ccfa page is a great starting point. Most teachers are MORE than accomodating but all it takes is one teacher...

    MMR vaccine

I had probably 8 vaccine boosters prior to travel to Africa - including yellow fever, MMR and I can't remember what all others. I'll be honest - I didn't even tell Claire's GI. Good grief! We have had multiple warnings what she can have but I didn't think about myself. Now that said, we've...

Long term Entocort use & weight gain

Dragon - Maya is right. We can't use TNF blockers because of neuro side effects as well. There are a couple of new ones out. Stelara (which we are on) is one that blocks interlukin 12 & 23. There are a couple of other kids on here on Stelara (Ustekinumab). Then there's a brand new one as...

    Medication Decisions-Mtx or 6MP?

We never could get the 6MP to a therapeutic level without her liver staging a revolt. She just couldn't make it work. We have coped well and done well overall with MTX, although right now is a struggle. Hugs, J.

    Endo and GI appointments

Hey - I just read through your thread. I think it sounds like definitely time to move on from Imuran. I wonder why he's making you wait for the Flagyl to be done. Did they by chance say? My only thought is that like Imuran, MTX takes awhile to be effective. Hugs, J.

    Hello! New to Crohns Disease.

Its so frustrating. Mine was young too. I will be hoping & praying the Remicade is the key! J.

This is great news! I'm sure you'll watch him like a hawk. Praying it was a blip on the radar screen and he'll be happy & healthy. J.

    Faecal Calprotectin Collection.

It has correlated for us and been a good indicator. Our hospital says you can refrigerate only if child goes in the evening and you can bring it the following morning. Never talked about freezing. On a completely different note, formed stool can't be tested for c-diff. Did you know that...

    Time to get scoped?

Orchid - Not to hijack lenny's thread but just wanted to say that I clicked your link to the Dessa song on You Tube. LOVE! Haven't heard anything new I liked in awhile. Lenny - I don't envy you this age. It's tough. I wouldn't be happy with 500. Like Patricia said, maybe an MRE and short...

    Bug Bites? Infection? Remicade?

Love his heart. YUCK! I know you must be worried. Thinking positive that it's an uber-nasty bug bite that will heal quickly with the abx. Glad he was able to get his Remicade! J.

    Stelara Support Group

We were not advised of "letting it sit out" and the instructions say to keep in refrigerator. So, Claire's getting is straight out of the fridge. Your post made me wonder and since I work at a hospital, I combed the "for healthcare professionals" website to see if it said anything about...

    Worried

Got it. Well, even though they are listed as a possibility, perhaps the doctor might suggest that he's had difference experience with one than another for the hair loss? A big part too, I suspect, on the hair is the nutrition piece and the ability to absorb the nutrition. We are using...
