Molecular and Phenotypic Characterization of Escherichia coli Associated with Granulomatous Colitis of Boxer Dogs

@kiny - Thanks for your response. The AIEC behind Crohns seems a logical and plausible explanation. If this is the cause, then why is it that the medication for Crohns keeps on going for the entire lifetime. Assuming that once the patient is in remission from Crohns, then the assumption is that...

Molecular and Phenotypic Characterization of Escherichia coli Associated with Granulomatous Colitis of Boxer Dogs

@kiny - A question - It seems that AIEC can cause Crohn's in a very short span of time. However, I am reminded of a study which was done which showed that the gut microbiome changes in patients years before the onset of Crohn's. I have pasted the link though I am not sure if this is correct...

    Superstition and Anxiety

@ARSalerno3. I am not a trained medical professional therefore I don't need to see any of your reports. It is important to find a Gastroenterologist who you can trust. All I can say is I wish you all the best in your journey ahead.

    Superstition and Anxiety

@ARSalerno3 - the way to diagnose Crohn's disease is via a colonoscopy and endoscopy and a biopsy. Colonoscopy is done by a Gastroenterologist. I suggest you schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist.

Changes in the gut mycobiome in pediatric patients in relation to the clinical activity of Crohn's disease

It is perhaps one of the biggest challenges of Crohn's disease. How and why does the body find a way around a treatment which has worked in the past?

Changes in the gut mycobiome in pediatric patients in relation to the clinical activity of Crohn's disease

I agree that Crohn's disease people will have all sorts of bugs because of the fact epithelial barrier is breached. The other problem is that when the intestines are suffering from inflammation, it is not possible for probiotics to reach the intestines. And it is also possible that even if a...

New study links air pollution to cases of inflammatory bowel disease in B.C. children

Changes in the gut mycobiome in pediatric patients in relation to the clinical activity of Crohn's disease

I agree. If the epithelial integrity is breached, it will allow all sorts of bacteria, fungi to get into the gut. However, if there is a way to restore the balance during that time, it will be extremely useful because diets such as EEN, CDED are trying to do just that. So far the researchers...
