    Anemia

I didn't know where to put this but I was curious if anemia is a common problem with crohns/uc. I'm starting on my second round of iron infusions in a year because I can't keep my iron up..I also can't stomach oral iron-it causes more diarrhea and it makes me have a worse stomach ache than usual.

    On humira still having diarrhea

I've been on humira for about a year (changed over from Remicade during pregnancy after a few severe allergic reactions to Remicade). I am also on 6mp and lialda and I'm still expirience bloody diarrhea several times a day. Recently it's suspected that it's because of c-diff but I don't think...

    Elevated temperature

When i feel feverish - like 99 degrees it usually means I'm going into a flare/have some inflammation going on or recently c-diff (but my temp was reaching 102 with an active c-diff infection, it did start around 99 degrees and as the pain got worse my temp rose).

    Humira pen or syringe

I use the pen. I find it helps to leave it get to room temp (i try to wait half an hour to an hour before injection). I also have my husband inject me so I don't lessen up pressure on the pen as it goes in. It still hurts and sometimes I get bruises on the injection site but it's not terrible...

    C-diff

Alright so i wound up on Flagyl but the generic version...it's different from the pills i had before that made me sick. Remarkably i haven't been sick at all on these pills, not even the diarrhea i have when inantibiotics (they aren't coated though so they taste terribly). I've been on the...

    C-diff

Insurance definitely wouldn't cover the difficid, so my doc prescribed vancomycin....insurance is also fighting that. This whole thing really is pissing me off. This is the same insurance who froze all my meds because they decided they were to expensive and wanted my doc to verify i needed each...

    C-diff

Apparently I'm going to go untreated because my freaking insurance doesn't want to cover any meds.

    C-diff

I was posting below about not feeling well but I got a call today saying my stool sample came back positive for c-diff. I can't take flagl since it makes me vomit a lot so I'll be taking a med that is 1 pill twice a day for 10 days (it starts with a d...can't think of the name). Anyway idk how i...

    How do you feel better?

I think that's what was determined is that I have crohns colitis. We've done several tests to try to nail down what exactly I have and it comes up as IBD lol. It's pretty rare to have both crohns disease and ulcerative colitis from what I understand... (so are we those lucky few to have both...

    How do you feel better?

Meds are getting straightened out, for the time being I was able to get a refill and the office is going to battle with the insurance company. My GI feels it's still to early for surgery but we did talk a little on it. He was also a little upset i didn't go to the ER, he said the ER would have...

    How do you feel better?

Unfortunately I haven't been feeling better. Part of it is due to the fact I feel i have to strain while in the bathroom (i feel like i have to poop but there's nothing to poop so i involuntary strain), another part is because the lialda has to have prior authorization and I've been without it...

    How do you feel better?

Today I'm feverish with intermittent sharp and dull pain in my left side, passing essentially only blood (between very red, to purple/brown, some clots ect). I've considered going to the er today but everytime i go to the ER they sort of just push me out the door. If things get worse I'll bite...

    How do you feel better?

I see my GI next Tues and plan to discuss either more humira or some other alternative meds. Remicade worked very well for me however my last 2 infusions i had severe allergic reactions. i feel some of it is diet and some of it is just the disease not getting under control. When the colon isn't...

    How do you feel better?

I am at the point of just wanting it to be over. The pain, the frustraition, waking up to go to the bathroom, morning in the bathroom ect. It's so tiring. I wish I didn't become allergic to Remicade...it actually helped :( Anyway I'm breastfeeding so I'm often starving but here are some dinners...

Influx of Internet "person **** themselves" posts

Has anyone noticed this? With the Internet and people feeling the need to document their lives I've been seeing a lot of posts about people "shitting" themselves during activities. The articles are written making fun of these people and then people repost them either laughing or saying something...

When were you ready for surgery?

Stelarjess my GI keeps coming around to surgery like it's inevitable in my case that I'll need surgery.

When were you ready for surgery?

This is part vent part question. I'm tired....I'm so so very tired. I thought I had found just the right mix of meds to keep me healthy enough (not super healthy but enough that bathroom visits were limited to 3ish times a day and in the morn). Double dose Remicade, 50 mgs 6mp and 4 pills of...
