    8 weeks for a scan!

I'm not sure. to be honest I totally agree with you with regards to the medical team and i feel a bit let down by them. I'm considering just simply asking to see the gastro specialists at my local hospital but im not sure if I can because they no longer have any of my records, and it will make...

    8 weeks for a scan!

I thought I recognised the name Slade, Im also treated at salford royal but am under Dr Anderson. waiting may not be ideal but The radiologists at Salford are excellent, I spent a long time in there ( i was transferred there because the hosp i was in didnt have the expertise that was available...

    Justice

I'm so angry, after all this time waiting for the sentencing it has now been put back until the end of march. the reason the judge gave was that one of the men who attacked me and got convicted of gbh has 2 autistic children who may be affected if their dad goes to prison for nearly killing...

    Bags Blow Outs at Night?

Ive gotten into a routine where i wake up after 3-4 hours sleep to empty the bag, most of the time it is full of air, and although i've never experienced a blow out, because of the way i lie on my side, i very often end up with a leak, and this gets worse when the bag is full of air like a...

Still getting used my new stoma

It will take a while but the more time passes the more used to it you will get and with that will come a lot more confidence within yourself and confidence in your bag. I find myself still checking if i can to make sure its not leaking but i guess everyone will do that from time to time.. in...

    Upcoming test - MRI?

The drink stuff isn't the nicest tasting stuff in all honesty but i wouldnt worry about it too much, it isnt as bad as some bowel preps for colonoscopys etc. In the past when I've had injections with mri's or ct scans they have gone through I.V, so you will possibly have a canula inserted and...

    What bag do you use?

I use the dansac nova 1 easifold, Its the only one ive ever really used, but bar the odd leak its fine. I did try using a different type of dansac bag but it just wasnt any good at all, bit smaller and the sticky part was very different and didnt stick too well at all. Could probably do with...

Months of C Diff with Crohn's

what i thought is pretty much the same as what kayleigh says. A lot of people carry the c-diff bug but it isnt necessarily active. But being on a long course of anti biotics is something that is likely kick the bug into life so to speak.

    Infliximab

hopefully you will be fine. When you have your first infusion they give you a little bit at first and keep a very close eye on you to make sure you don't have a reaction to it. I know my first time they kept me about 2 hours after It had finished just incase.

    Infliximab

I had a few infusions and it worked really well, and tbh i prefered just going to hospital and sitting on a drip for a few hours every 6-8 weeks as opposed to messing about remembering to take pills and having to have bloods constantly checked. Like i say for me it worked great,

    HELP stoma sizing... skin irritation

I had the same problem and realised i was cutting the hole to big to fit around my stoma. the bags i get always come with a measuring card so that you can place this around your stoma to get a good idea of how many mm you need to cut. leaving 1 or 2 mm to make sure its not too tight. also as...

    Questions about my first MRI

I've had about 11 ct scans now and the amount of radiation they expose you to is more concerning than the dye.I was told MRI's are less risky but dont give as clear imaging of certain things as what a ct scan does but i guess it depends on what they are looking for. I've had a few mri's too but...

    Liver function

Had a ct scan 2 weeks ago and just had my results today, they said my liver looks ok, bile ducts arent blocked etc etc but there is an abcess/collection on the top of my liver. So they are gonna speak to radiology about possibly having it drained. but they dont really know of the best way to go...
