    Bad days

Hi Kittyp Even though you don't have a definitive diagnosis, I am sure your local Crohns groups would still offer support as would the IBD nurses (if you can get hold of them!). Whatever you have sounds serious and you need some help to get you feeling better. In my darkest times, I just tried...

Looking for some input into my weird medical issues.

Totally agree about the faecal Calprotectin poo test as I have been told it will show whether you have IBS or IBD. Take care.

    Bad days

Hi Kittyp I feel for you hun. You are entitled to vent especially with what's been happening recently. When was the last time you had contact with your GI doctor? If not in the last couple of weeks, it maybe time to contact them again and update them. Do you have an IBD nurse at your hospital...

    Thick worm-like mucus?

When flaring I have had threads of mucus wrapped around my poo (sorry if TMI). As you have had mucus for 3 days, I would give your doctor a quick call just to let them know and see what they think. Take care

    Feeling unwell for 6 weeks

Hi Molly So are you amazing! Glad to see that you went and I imagine that they are checking that you don't have a bug causing your sickness & diarrhoea before they give you steroids (which can suppress your immune system). Tomorrow should get you back on track. Take care and keep us posted. xx

Hi Beach All the best for an easy safe trip to Florida. I look forward to comparing notes next week after my shorter trip to Liverpool. Take care

Advice for long car journey - moving home & flaring!

Oh Cat What a pair we are? I must admit 'turf toe' sounds cooler than scaphoid (if injuries can be cool but I am sure you know what I mean). Hee hee! Just sitting here chilling while hubby gets me a drink. I'd better make the most of this as I am sure he will get fed up soon. Take care

Bad flare/obstruction.. because of entocort stopping?

Hello I also think you need to go to A&E as all that vomiting could leave you dehydrated and you may need to top up your fluids. I know it's not great being in hospital, but hopefully they can get on top of your current situation and you can go home feeling more comfortable. You should speak...

    Feeling unwell for 6 weeks

Hello Molly I'm sorry to hear that you are so poorly. I'm with Scopio. Pentasa is very mild and not particularly good for active disease. For me, if you are throwing up a lot, you could be blocked and if it was me, I would be visiting A&E a sap just to get things checked out properly. You...

Advice for long car journey - moving home & flaring!

So...... Yesterday whilst I was lifting a box that had been packed, my wrist decided to give way. After spending this morning in Casualty, they think I have a fractured scaphoid and I have to wear a splint for the next 6 weeks. Happy days! At least I can get out of all the lifting...

Advice for long car journey - moving home & flaring!

Hi Beach Safe trip - at least you are heading somewhere warm! Not sure about self drive - I remain sceptical, I think.

Advice for long car journey - moving home & flaring!

Well..... This time next week we will be on the move to our new home. As I am sure you can imagine, the stress is starting to build, especially as the move was only confirmed for sure last Friday! Please excuse this post but just needed to get it out there! :ybatty:

    Waiting for Surgery

Hi Tony Sorry to hear about the c-diff. Hopefully now they know, they will get on top of it quickly and you will start to feel better. I can imagine that it must feel pretty awful at the moment. I know when I have a setback, I feel very sorry for myself and all I want to do is shut the world...

Hi Tony Sorry to hear you have had a bit of a setback but glad that they seem to have gotten on top of it. What was the second surgery for? Take care.

Diagnosed at age 50 & over Support Group

Hello RNgirl I totally get your reluctance about Humira. Until I was diagnosed with this disease 4 years ago I hardly ever used any meds - now I'm a pro! I have been on Humira for two years now and I can honestly say it is very easy to administer (especially with the new non-stinging...

    Waiting for Surgery

I'm so pleased it went well. Look after yourself Tony and if your surgeon is anything like mine - all he kept asking me everyday was 'had I done a poo?'. Well done you! :dusty:

    Did I do wrong?

I'm with CrossStitchGal. I also had to give up working because of this condition and have had to apply for disability benefits here in the UK. I did struggle initially to accept it as I have always earned my own money but a friend said to me that I had paid enough taxes over the years and also...
