Gallbladder removed now have worse digestion. NEED ADVICE

Since my gall bladder was removed I have had to reduce foods high in saturated fat. I cut way back on fried and greasy foods, and had to reduce the butter. Had to cut out uncured bacon entirely because it would go right through me. Haven't had any problem with sugars. The D isn't as bad if...

How did you begin your food selection after diagnosis?

Every CD case is different. I didn't develop any reaction to foods until five years after diagnosis. I agree that soft bland low fiber foods are safest if you want to enjoy your vacation.

    Tranquil secluded country.

    Health question

You don't have to be in the woods to pick up a tick. Years ago I found a deer tick on my arm while in my apartment. If it was in my arm then it didn't get there from any ground foliage and I had not been anywhere near grass or woods the entire day. I had to go to ER to get the stubborn...

You really need a lawyer. Sounds like a case of improper dismissal.

Do I need to know it's a fistula?

A fistula has the risk of leaking toxic intestinal waste into your system, so not something to be trifled with lightly!

I've been using organic honey or from those farmstands whenever I can.

Partial Obstructions-How To Know When Not To Wait It Out

I have had regular abdominal cramps the last 18 months. I didn't go to ER every time because sometimes the cramps were from blockages, while most of the time they were from indigestion. I learned to tell the difference, and my GI told me when to go to ER. If you're having a blockage, your...

How do I recognize a fistula?

I don't remember any symptoms when my fistula developed. I was having a flare-up and it wouldn't respond to medicine. When they investigated further they found the fistula with ct scan. I have had flare-ups before and there weren't any symptoms I hadn't experienced. The key thing is "stitch...

    Organic foods

Organic or gluten made little difference. The less I ate at restaurants (esp national chains who overuse processed foods and preservatives), the less trouble I had.

    Good outcome after a resection??

My resection was in 2011 due to fistulas and I was problem free for a few years. The risk is adhesions, which are scars from the joints. Sometimes foods can bind to them and cause an obstruction. Ultimately I isolated what foods do this and have cut them out of my diet. Unfortunately no...

    Pre-op

Recovering, thanks. Went home from the ER, the IV fluids helped clear it up. Had to cut hot peppers out of my diet after my surgery four years ago, that stuff inflames my piping. A couple of days before last weekend's obstruction I had lunch with work associates and one of the dishes from the...

    Pre-op

Alright who cast a spell on me? The night I made the jest in the previous post, I wound up in the ER with a partial obstruction.

    Pre-op

You have enough surgeries that they should install a hood with hinges. Or a really long zipper.

Morning rumble and worst part of day??

I seem to be the exception. The only time I have problems is if I am having cramps because of something I ate. I figured out what triggers the cramps and since I have removed those foods from my diet I have been fine at night/morning. When cramps are triggered my abdomen makes ugly noises...

Can partial blockages come and go?

Usually when I have a blockage, nothing passes and I ultimately vomit. Diarrhea on its only could be blockage, but I don't have it every time.

How does food affect a flare

In my experience, the wrong food does increase the symptoms. Multiple times I went on bland diet on advice of my doctor after abdominal cramps due to foods. Stayed on it 6-7 days so the piping can heal. Some residual cramps the first couple of days, but much better at the end. Isolating WHAT...
