So we have no running water at work

I've been pretty good with not missing any work for about 2 months but that's because I go in regardless of being sick. Unfortunately I can't run away from germs in schools. I often recover then quickly after get another infection so there hasn't been a week in months that I have been infection...

    Crohn's looks different for everyone

Crohn's looks different for everyone but we all relate in our battle with an ongoing feud with the toilet. Sometimes I can't help but feel annoyed that my Crohn's is different then those I read about on the forum. It almost makes my Crohn's seem---fake. Yea my feud with the toilet is real Yes...

So we have no running water at work

Very relatable. I work in schools so I am very familiar with getting sick. I'm on Humira so that too has lowered my compromised immunity. Two things working against me.

    Dating and crohn's. Ah!

And this is why I'm not dating right now. Sure wish I would have been married, living in a cute house before I was diagnosed. Too late now😶 Most are not mature at my age... right now people are partying and taking college classes.

Crohns disease, depression, and anxiety. Is it real or are we making it up?

I was an anxious child but that heightened when I became ill. My whole journey to diagnosis was pretty traumatic--which I think plays into my anxiety now. I worry so much that I sometimes question how I'm going to function when I'm on my own... the bad news mail. The phone calls. Health...

Non Crohns Sufferer, but married to one

Just like Eleanor suggested talk to him about why he doesnt want to be intimate. Could very well be that he is just too uncomfortable or something mental health related. Perhaps he doesn't feel very desirable... I myself when I feel sick and uncomfortable...intimacy is the last thing on my mind.

    Purpose beyond the Crohns

I wish I could find my purpose...quicker. Most days I just feel like an extra body in a room--just wandering with no real direction. I've quickly went to school.. got set up in a job in the event of my then undiagnosed medical mystery to worsen. I've altered just about everything in my life...

    He can't turn his head!

He sees a rheumatologist and is on a combination of medications for his osteoarthritis etc. He is on lots of medicine. All his doctors are saying is to take it easy and keep on taking his anti-spasmodic medication.

    Purpose beyond the Crohns

So many of the things you said I so relate to. I was ecstatic when I was first diagnosed. I had gone on my entire highschool education being sick and none of the doctors could explain away what was going on with me. I was relieved. It didn't even cross my mind how I would have to change a lot in...

    He can't turn his head!

I'm a go-to voltarol gel person too and even that is not offering him relief. My mother suggested we take him to the ER but the most they can do there is give him pain medication which is something he already takes for the Crohn's.

    He can't turn his head!

My dad has long battled Crohn's and it's been awhile since he's had problems with his neck muscles. Now he is unable to move his neck and the doctors have him on anti-spasmodic Meds. He's on a particular one as he has ulcers etc but this time it is not working. It's been 3 weeks now and he says...

    Purpose beyond the Crohns

Im not grieving much over having Crohn's anymore. Not to say there are days when I'm just so over it. Now I'm trying to find purpose beyond this life diagnosis. I have a job which is great but I don't see my body being able to keep up with the requirements of the job forever. I have a lot to...

    Mini-vents

I've been falling a lot more which is taking a toll on my body. I'm 6'1 and falling from that high to the ground is putting a lot of strain on my body. It's like my entire body goes into shock every fall I take. Also having to wait for my next injection is getting bloody annoying when I could...

I think I might be close to a diagnosis...

I remember the excitement of getting a diagnosis after years of maybes and normal test results. You must be relieved to know that after a very long wait there is something to explain your symptoms. Prior to my diagnosis of Crohn's they gave me idiopathic pain syndrome. Basically they couldn't...

    I feel so selfish

I strongly encourage you to remember to be kind to yourself. Often people closest to those with any illness forgets they have their own needs while stressing over supporting their loved one. My father has had Crohn's for 30 plus years now. He's had all possible surgeries. He's been on all...

    Living with Crohns

Stress is something they use to explain away everything. Listen to your body and keep telling them over and over again if you have to. Before I was diagnosed with Crohn's---for 7 plus years I went from doctor to doctor trying to get some answers. They said stress. They put me on...

    Crohn's diagnosed 1977

I started off with severe arthritic mimicking pains before the onset of abdominal cramping, diahrea etc. The arthritic symptoms havd amplified since then. I have to wear wrist braces a lot and my joints and muscles are a pain to deal with. I haven't talked to many people who started off with...

    Living with Crohns

I am also in remission but I have a hard time believing that's the case. I read somewhere in pure desperation to understand why the heck I was still sick in remission---there are different types of remission. You could have normal bowel movements and have less pain---or in remission it could...
