    Worry-a-thon 2013

I have out diagnosed doctors many times, by googling. I found this sight, by googling. I learned about EEN, by googling. It's good to google. :)

    Worry-a-thon 2013

My 16 year old son was diagnosed with Crohn's in March. Since then, I have watched him suffer physically and ride a terrible emotional roller coaster. I've watched as most of his friends have abandoned him because he refuses to candy coat his true feelings. When they asked how he was, for the...

How can you tell if it is scar tissue?

My son's GI says he can feel scar tissue on his side. My son doesn't have much pain, though, but he has trouble gaining weight and tires very easily.

Financial support while cutting work hours in UK?

Our 16 year old has Crohn's and we can't count on him ever being able to work, so after he was diagnosed, I started reading minimalist blogs. I found a family of 3 who were able to save for and buy a house on 1 mimimum wage job! We're not in their league, but we have started saving a lot more...

    What do you like?

I don't see that it has done anything positive for my son, the one who is actually suffering with the disease, as he was already a very compassionate person, but seeing what he has to go through on a daily basis, at such a young age, has shrunk all of my stupid problems and made me much better...

I wanted to cook some Indian food for my son today. Are whole cumin seeds scd legal?

    Skin issues

My oldest daughter and I have both been bothered by mystery rashes. Hers was when she was in college. It itched so badly that it made her cry, as she couldn't sleep. Mine came a few years later...mine was invisable, but always itched in the same places, esp when I would get wet or sweaty at...

How many Crohn's related surgeries have you had?

    Going Vegan

You can make a delicious quiche with tofu. My kids actually prefered scrambled tofu to scrambled eggs, too.

    Terrified of Colonoscopy

I give myself an enema before colonoscopies. Docs don't know that I do this, but the drinks cause me pain and make me sick and they always tell me that I'm always clean as a whistle. Disclaimer: I don't have Crohn's.

    Updates on My Current Flare

I'm sorry you are in a flare. Unfortunately my son's doc suspects he's in one, too. He's having tests done tomorrow. I'm super worried. :( My husband took Methotrexate for years (diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 45) and often felt terrible because of it. He got off of it several...

    Newbie for Crohn's

Hi Dawn. I'm so sorry that you are in pain. I don't know why doctors so often insinuate that our pain isn't real instead of simply saying that they don't know what is causing it. It really adds insult to injury. :( Maybe you need to find more compassionate doctors? Hope you feel better soon!

What can help with stomach cramps

I have a lot of intestinal pain due to a childbirth injury and I think it would help me if I strengthened my core. There are also yoga moves to help you poop and pass gas. Unfortunatey I haven't been very motivated to do them, yet... When my cramping barely starts, it helps to lay down and...

    Crohns + baby

I'm curious about the genetics involved with Crohn's. Can we get tested to see if my children got it from me or from my husband? What can they tell, exactly?

    Going Vegan

I'm 14 years vegan, 51, 120 - 125 lbs, 5' 7" and pretty much a couch potato. Super low blood pressure, but I never remember the # for some reason. Blood levels on everything are always very good, even though I almost never take any vitamins. I love spinach and kale salads, hummus, lentil soup...

    Other Flavors of EEN

I tasted my son's Peptamen 1.5 vanilla drink today. It was like an instant breakfast, with a gross, chalky undertone. I don't know how he managed to drink 8 of them every day. Can Grace use the flavored straws?
