    Back on budesonide

Thanks Cat -- I was wondering about this myself, but I'm also hoping that this is something of a mini-flare, perhaps food induced... and with any luck, I won't need multiple months on budesonide to beat it back into submission. My GI flat-out told me that I know my body better than anyone, and...

    Back on budesonide

Well, it looks like I'll be hanging out with my best bud(edsonide) again for a little while! *ducks I'll see myself out. Seriously though -- just had a mini-flare (or I hope it was a mini-flare) that led to some severe stomach pain in the middle of the night, followed by a bunch of bowel...

    LDN overseas?

Seconded. It sounds kind of sketchy to me, and I think that a big part of what makes LDN effective is the proper compounding. I don't have much experience with the liquid/do-it-yourself approach, but yeah -- you might want to go with a more reputable source, just so you know that you're...

    Quick little update

Glad to see you're doing better -- take that ball and run with it!

Turned Down for LDN x 3 today!

I wish you the best of luck. I don't know what to tell you regarding where the medication will be manufactured, and it makes me wonder if custom compounding will still be available if LDN becomes FDA approved. However, I was under the impression that Skip Lenz (from Skip's Pharmacy) was going...

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) Support Group

Echoing what others have said here in that I had a "mini-flare" after a few months on LDN, but things quieted down fairly promptly after a few days. Overall, I'm feeling much better than I have in the past, but it didn't happen overnight for me!

Woot! Docs all agree to trial of LDN

    Good luck Lisa!!

    "Mini-flares?"

Lived there for nine years, and my sister-in-law lives there so we're hopefully going to visit this summer. I miss riding those bike paths! Especially the one around Lake Monona... when there isn't a smelly algae bloom, of course. ;)

    "Mini-flares?"

Thanks Cat -- say hi to Madison for me! (By the way, I might be in your neck of the woods in August, will keep you posted!)

    "Mini-flares?"

Aw man... and I was doing so well... Last night I woke up around 3:00PM with my stomach enduring waves of pain -- each one would come on strong, and then fade. I kept hoping each one was the last one, but they kept coming for a couple of hours. I opted not to go to the hospital and I...

    My Quest for LDN

    :( Hang in there pal!

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) Support Group

I'm pretty sure you can. If I flared again, I'd probably hop back on budesonide first in an attempt to knock down the inflammation (with my GI's go-ahead, of course); I also think that ctrl z is currently on both. I wish you the best of luck!!

Does your GI know you take LDN?

True, but as it is, LDN is pretty damn inexpensive. It's actually cheaper for me than my Pentasa co-pay under my insurance! Kind of crazy, but it's nice to know that there may be an effective, inexpensive treatment out there, especially for those with little or no health insurance coverage...

Does your GI know you take LDN?

Hey Bob -- the patents for LDN have been acquired by TNI Biotech, and phase III clinical trials may be on the horizon in the near future (I hope), so things may be looking up as far as legitimizing the use of LDN to treat IBD. The phase I and phase II trials looked promising, so there's hope!

Does your GI know you take LDN?

In my case, it was actually my GI who prescribed my LDN, but I was doing pretty well at the time and my case is considered mild, so she was open to taking a chance with me. The fact that I didn't stop taking my other "maintenance" medication (Pentasa) probably helped a bit too; she might have...

    Feeling hopeless

Weeping Willow, my heart goes out to you. As a survivor of suicide, all I can do is encourage you to seek out more help, and to not harm yourself. What you are feeling is real and needs serious treatment, and if you feel like you are going to hurt yourself, I would advise you to get to the...

Questions about LDN - very interested!

I'm not sure where it is on the forum, but I read that a big pharmaceutical company purchased use-patents for LDN in a handful of various ailments; I'm not sure if Crohn's was among them (yet), but from what I remember reading, Phase III clinical trials (the big ones before a drug goes to...

Questions about LDN - very interested!

Hey bud -- greetings from your neighbor to the south (Providence)! The thing about LDN is that it's not "standard of care" yet when it comes to IBD treatment, and while it's becoming more of a known treatment in the medical community, there are those who are reluctant to try it over a more...
