    Can we go Med Free?

Joan is right. Even a low dosage of a maintenance drug is probably the best course of action. But do consult a physician first.

    Crohns story what is remission

Have you had your iron levels checked? I have terrible lethargy if I don't take my iron supplements. And I had to stop taking Lomotil -- it produced searing gut cramps. I'm still "going" 10+ times/day. It saps a lot of energy going that often. I hear you.

Cleveland take steps for crohns & colitis walk

Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks! I'm of the opinion that it doesn't matter which country finds the cure. I donate to four different Crohn's national organizations. Think globally, act locally.

Cleveland take steps for crohns & colitis walk

That's terrific. Every step is a step closer to the cure. We all need to do our part (when we are able to). If we don't help each other, who else is going to?

    First time sharing

Sorry you're having a rough time of it. Same sort of deal with me -- multiple and consecutive hospital visits until someone finally paid attention. Sometimes we have to insist on treatment. Welcome to the forum.

Serious back and leg pain on right side

Hello Bev, Sorry to hear you're in so much pain. Back and hip pain is common for Crohn's sufferers. Could be arthritis. Are you currently on any medication for Crohn's? See if you can get a referral to a Rheumatologist.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome? Does it exist?

I think Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a genuine condition in and of itself. It's widespread. Being misdiagnosed with it shouldn't detract from the fact others legitimately suffer from it. In no way should we discount the suffering of those with IBS.

    Surgery on duodenum

Hang in there Brad! It's likely tough to get a gauge of what's going on because of the swelling. Your insides just went through some heavy trauma. But I understand your frustration.

What are you eating right now?

Chicken and rice with steamed veggies. Had to get a new rice cooker today. The old one wore out. I eat a lot of rice now that I've given up on pasta.

    Gurgling guts

I've had these for decades. They're really quite audible, sounding like an asthmatic elephant. I've developed a sense of humor about them. Not much else I can do about it.
