3 months with rectal/anal problems undiagnosed

go and see a colerectal surgeon and get them to look at your anus and tell what it is….any colorectal surgeon will be able to accurately tell you what it is. good luck.

    Stage 4 Hemorrhoid Experiences Please!

banding is not that radical…you could have it done on a lunch break…it is more embarrasing than painful….in fact i will go as far to say it doesnt hurt at all..…you might need more than that….i think in your case though, go and poke your bottom into the face of an expert colorectal surgeon and...

Please help, feel like I'm going mad

it is quite common for a GP to tell you 'its all in your head'…….very common thing for them to say because they have no bloody idea what they are dealing with. I would suggest ask around and find a really good gastroenterolgist that you like and get a good vibe off and slowly rebuild your...

    Stage 4 Hemorrhoid Experiences Please!

they wont do surgery, but i cant see why they wont do 'banding'…..i have had it three times in 3 months and i have crohns. They basically strangle the roid!!!! It takes a few days to fall off….the colorectal surgeon should be able to take a quick look up there and see if it is do-able. I would...

does Emotional Stress set your crohns off?

sounds familiar….and good on you for accepting that you have that issue……i have it too! I rekon most 'crohnies' do, but actually accepting it is the hard bit…..once accepted, then you can work at being better at it. good luck

Just got out of my first resection surgery

sounds like a paralytic ilius? Not sure what the spelling is Hisenberg…i had a similar thing, the intestines were asleep after surgery…….the nurses fed me before i had farted and the following few weeks were some of the worst memories i have. Had you eaten after the surgery and is that why you...

Just got out of my first resection surgery

hey mate…..no hurry to eat loats and try and put the weight back on…. Faecal calprotectin instead of colonoscopy

i rekon its a great test! If it shows up you have inflammation then you know the crohns is active….if it says no inflammation, you know you are ok (for now)! I have had it twice and both times, yes it costs money, but much less evasive than having to drink the horrid prep and take the day out to...

Crohns - stress ---> changing the way you respond

well said shamrock! most people with an illness want to think of it like 'poor me, the world has given me this horrible disease and now i have to wait for science to generate a magic elixir that will make it go away.' that is fair enough - but - after living with crohns for 20+ years you have...

Crohns - stress ---> changing the way you respond

Coming to terms with having crohns disease is a long process. Part of that process involves acknowledging that you may have faults and flaws in your own personality/behaviour and lifestyle. One of the faults i know i have is getting stressy about things...it is a life lesson i needed to...

    Tired and lost

i think it is important to realise that there are people with crohns that feel a lot worse than you might be feeling right now.....to put it into perspective. When i have had a 'flare' it has lasted for months and months and months and eventually required surgery...i have had years where I...

    Tired and lost

I dont know if you have to turn to spiritualism...i think it is more a realisation that there is more to your body, mind than flesh and blood...that there is soul and that soul yearns for connection to the universe to feel content. There is nothing surer than if you take one step towards God he...

does Emotional Stress set your crohns off?

it is a hard one to define.... i didnt feel that emotional stess caused me any problems at all - prior to being diagnosed with crohns......but since i have had the disease, it seems more and more relevant.
