MAP Vaccine Ready for Human Trials - Could be Used for Crohn's

I believe she is taking a combination of oral antibiotics similar/the same as what is offered in the Redhill Map phase 3 trial. The anti-map Vaccine trial in Oxford in in phase 1, which means it is being tested on healthy adults with no illnesses and no Crohn's/IBD to see if it is first safe...

    Dear lord help me....

Hi Soph, Really pleased you got an appointment at last! I would focus on this: - Even if the MRI is normal, the colonoscopy showed your bowel has not healed and that is the most important point. - The goal of treating Crohn's disease is full mucosal healing. That has to be your GIs...

Does chronic fatigue improves if crohn improves??

The best thing you can do is get a diagnosis. Only then do you know exactly what is going on and how best to proceed with treating it. Different treatments work for different diseases.

Can entocort 6mg work instead of 9mg?

You cannot make assumptions with this disease. Are there plans for you to have testing?

Anyone Try Fasting to Heal Crohn's?

Please get properly diagnosed. You cannot just assume you have IBD because it "feels" like IBD. IBD feels different to everyone. Food poisoning can cause raised calproctectin levels. You need to be properly tested for IBD before making all these assumptions and changes.

Can entocort 6mg work instead of 9mg?

Everyone is different. Entocort works by targeting inflammation in the terminal ileum and colon. Do you know if you have inflammation there?

Does chronic fatigue improves if crohn improves??

Have you been diagnosed with Crohn's? Were your b12 and anemia levels normal? If so why do you think this was false?

Possible to have Crohn's with normal scopes?

Yes you can. Other tests that may reveal something include an MRI with contrast of the small bowel, an upper endoscopy and a pill cam.

IBD nurses have phoned me twice asking me to do a blood test

Oh right :-/ I have left a message with the nurses and said I cannot get back to take my test until Tuesday so let me know if it is safe or unsafe for me to do that. Will see what they say.

IBD nurses have phoned me twice asking me to do a blood test

Thanks for your info - that is certainly a weight off my mind. Started thinking maybe I had cancer and all sorts of crazy things! I know my dose is low - It was a battle to get it upped to 75mg in March - prior to that I had been on 50mg for a YEAR!! I am just shy of 8 stone and 5 foot 5. My...

IBD nurses have phoned me twice asking me to do a blood test

Hello, I am on azathioprine (50mg since April 2016 and upped to 75mg in March 2017). I get my bloods checked every few weeks, last time I got them checked on 11th April. I have received two calls this week now from the IBD nurse asking me how long I've been on my azathioprine, when did I start...

Did you have an endoscopy to diagnose that?

    Need some encouragement

I know your GI said you don't have Crohn's after the pill cam but my advice to you would be to keep an open mind. Misdiagnosis of Crohn's is common even for experts when it is staring them in the face. I hope you don't have Crohn's but an ileal ulcer and inflammation makes it a real possibility.

6 Weeks post-op. Is this pain normal?

I certainly did not experience anything like this. I know 4 weeks after my surgery I was running for a train and this caused me to feel some discomfort but was fine again pretty quickly. I remember feeling very well by 6 weeks. I would ask to get scanned. I am also wondering about hernia

    New pain: is it strictures?

Narrowings and problems with the small bowel can cause pain in places you might not expect. I used to get horrifically painful cramps just below my ribcage in the centre when I had severe inflammation in my terminal ileum. You sound like your quality of life is poor and there is no possible...

Are we still buying that idea that Crohn's is a chronic auto-immune inflammatory disease?

Yes exactly, you explain that much better than me :-)
