Need advice for treatment through diet

I think your doctor is very wise. I would rather give up hot dogs than to take some of the meds out there. Diet can and will put you in remission.

Do you have a job and have Crohns?

I am a full time (40+ hours a week) accountant, part owner of a small business, and soon to be part-time student. It is not easy and some days, I leave the office and hit my couch. I am in remission. When I am flaring, I still work but I know my productivity is less than normal. You will...

    Who am I?

Sometimes you just have to crawl back under the covers and those that really care, understand. I take St. John's Wort when I get anxious and stressed. The doctor gave me Antivan when I was flaring and on steroids. We do need a little help every now and then. Wendy

The other solutions : Zone & SCD

I took the route of what works for me. I eat more vegtables than anything else. I never eat cheese with another protein source- it just does not work for me. I never eat fruits with other foods. I am careful with wheat and limit the amount I eat. I always peel my tomatoes. I have read many...

    Absolutely out of ideas..

It could be as simple as functional pain. When I started healing, I had similar pain. Now I only have it if I eat something I should not. Wish I had a better answer. Wendy

Here I am again - OT (not Crohn's related)

Muppet, Two of my kids have learning disabilities. My daughter has a funky form of dyslexia and my son, well, they never quite figured him out. My son had speech problems and went to therapy. He still has to repeat a few words when he is super stressed. Both kids are grown and flown. Monica...

Has anyone heard anything about or tried "Theralac"?

I have not heard of that one. Hmmm. There is alot of misinformation out there about probiotics. First, they do work but it is not a one size fits all. Second, diet is part of it. And third, it takes time for some people to respond. All that being said, I only trust a few brands of...

How do you deal with this AND everything else in life?

Allie- Please go to the ER. You are possibly heading for malnutrition and let me tell you- that is horrible. Malnutritiion can cause muscle atrophy. It takes a long time to recover your muscle tone. Don't wait for the pill cam results, please. (I am a grandma and I am putting my foot down...

    Inflammation under the eyelid

Yes, I get that "eyelid inflammation" too. It is really annoying. I use an OTC product called STY. I don't remember who manufactures it. It has been a few years since I used it. Wendy

Thanks Von! I was leaning toward the stainless steel. I am going to a supply store to buy mine.

    3 months on LDN

LDN is a wonderful thing...but... you have to monitor your body while on it. Like Dan, I tried an experiment and I am now taking a break from LDN. I ramped my immune system up and now all I do is sweat. Things are calming back down. B.Boy- It really took 4 months for me to see a steady...

    Itchy Bumps

I used to get that Crabby. No one could tell me what it was (is). Haven't had it in a couple of years. I put it down to immune system whackiness. A doc told me it had to do with a deficiency. Told me colostrum would help.

    Vitamins??

I take St John's Wort during high stress times. It helps. I do not take them long term. Blake- eye issues- inflammation of the eyes. Also, malabsorption/malnutrition can cause vision problems that are temporary and go away when health is restored.

    Lightweight exercises for toning?

You really can not tone up the skin but you can build the muscle which will give a better appearance. Start with simple stretches and then move up to other exercises. I use resistance bands to exercise. Walking is a wonderful way to reintroduce your body to exercise.

    Another reason why I "can't have Crohn's"

I am Greek, French, and ScotchIrish. I also have Mediteranean Anemia. Crohn's was discovered by Dr. Crohn in a Jewish community. So in a sense it is a Jewish disease ;). Wendy
