    Scalp psoriasis

Dermatologist has me on Stelara - I had Remicade induced psoriasis so couldn't stay on it.

I've been on Ami for 25 years or there about. Differing dosages dependent on what I need. When I'm having a lot of pain, I take 100 mg - it helps me get to sleep and it's a drug enhancer so it seems to help my Crohns meds work better. I've never had any skin issues - had some when I went through...

    Overweight with Crohn's Support Group

I doubt that a small weight loss like 10 lbs would put you in a flare unless you're not eating at all. I think you're smart to check it with your doctor. Getting dizzy & light headed is very disconcerting - I have vertigo and hate when I het dizzy. Here's hoping your iron levels continue to be good.

    Stelara

Well, my blood labs came back & I'm officially in a flare. GI is upping my Stelara to every 6 weeks now. Of course Alberta Health won't pay for it so the drug company is donating every 2nd dose.

    Stelara Support Group

Well, just in the midst of a huge flare - fever, pain, diarrhea, nausea and the psoriasis is just as bad. GI has me on antibiotics, the dreaded prednisone to,see,if I can settle down. Wants to maybe up the doseage schedule to see if we can get it to work at all on anything. So far, no good.😓😷

    Stelara

Well, I've had 2 shots of Stelara - May and June. Nothing much happened until yesterday when I realized I could make a fist. I haven't been able to do that for 2 years due to the psoriasis on my palms. It has almost totally cleared up and I haven't had any Crohns symptoms (other than the day to...

    Stelara

No, I have Remicade induced psoriasis so my GI got me into a dermatologist who got me approved for Stelera. My GI has about 10 patients on it.

    Stelara

Don't know the dose yet - I do know that my injections will be like yours.

How many times a day do you all eat?

I'm on a nutrition and Crohns research program. They have me eating six times a day - small meals. Huge amount of fibre but with probiotics twice a day if possible. Probiotics to be from yogurt not supplements. It's interesting - I'm not digesting much of the fibre but haven't had any bouts of...

    Stelara

Well, got approved for Stelera - just came through yesterday. I have my first injection on the 25th. Hopefully it does something for this psoriasis and still keeps me in remission. Wish me luck!

I've only had the dosage upped if I had more pain but after it settles we take it back down. 30 mg is a smallish dose - I'm on 50 mg at night for sleep and pain and have been on this for a year now. I was on 125 mg. I've been told maximum is 300 mg and I've never had to take it that high. I...

Still waiting for approval for the drug. Alberta Health has to approve it before they will pay for it. So I wait now. Hopefully it will do something for me. Thanks!

Poll: How long have you been on Remicade?

3 years - in remission - gut is "pristine" according to my GI. However, I now have Remicade induced psoriasis so maybe going on Stelera. Too bad - Remicade has been a miracle drug for me.

    Weight loss diet for Crohn's

Mylittlepenguin: Interesting diet - I've been selected for a university research program on Crohns and nutrition. The diet is almost identical to yours with the addition of pro-biotics - in the form of yogurt or Kefir - not supplements. It's a 3 months study - no red meat, low sugar, lots of...

    Stelara Support Group

I've just been diagnosed with Remicade induced psoriasis so the dermatologist is applying for Stelera for me. I don't know much about it other than it costs a lot. Can anyone tell me how it's going for them - what kind of side effects can I expect? How often do you take it? I know it's an...

Crohns and loosing weight Support Group

I've been dealing with multiple health issues - cancer, high blood pressure, ruptured discs in my neck & spine and have gained a lot of weight and can't lose it. Exercising is very difficult and like you, I have no idea how I'm going to manage it.

    Update

Humira didn't work for me and when they put me on Remicade it was my miracle drug. The only thing it didn't quite get rid of was some of my joint pain. So my Rheumatologist put me on Sulfasalazine with the Remicade and for the first time in years I felt normal! I hope this works that well for you.

    The Amitriptyline Club Support Group

Been on Ami for at least 25 years. Dosage has been increased and decreased according to my need. Side effect: some grogginess in the am at first - goes away after a couple of weeks; dry mouth - worse with higher doses but Biotene helps with it; enhances the effect of other drugs (my sister...
