That's a bit poor. It won't stay hidden either.

Hair already half white at 20

Premature grey hair is one of the symptoms of a B12 deficiency. I started going grey in my mid 30s, as did my mother and her brother so maybe it is just genetic. But now I'm 45 and still have a bit of a mix of black and grey; it doesn't seem to be accelerating. Perhaps it is because I'm...

Sorry to hear that Ron. I hope that's the last of it. I guess it's a case of increased risk rather than "caused by". Now that it definitely has started working for me the blood test last week showed liver results slightly out of range. They want me to repeat the test, but it may be that I'll be...

    Constipation and Crohns?

Yep. Over the years I practically never had diarrhoea, and would often get constipated. In the agonising wait for diagnosis I was reading everything I could find and had ruled out Crohns as it didn't seem to fit my symptoms. So I was quite surprised when the doctor said "Crohn's Disease".

Fistula how long can you have one

I had a fistula from TI to Sigmoid Colon that was only discovered during surgery. The colonoscopy noted something odd about the Sigmoid, but they didn't pick anything up from the CT Scan. I guess that had probably formed over the years/decades.

    Restless legs at night

On that subject Cipro can use up Magnesium and Magnesium deficiency is linked with Restless Legs. But you can't take Magnesium with Cipro as it stops it working. Something to ask the doctor.

20cm of ileum to be removed this Friday - need advice!

I've never had a problem with dariy or diet in general. When I do have symptoms things like greasy foods are a bad idea, and fibre can make things worse. I think in my case I had about 3 months and then the disease started fighting back, though never seriously, but post-surgery I've had more...

This is seriously tempting fate, but I do believe that after 6 months it is working. I thought this 2 weeks ago, then symptoms came back for a few days, but I've had another week of normal BMs as well as generally feeling better and my bones barely aching at all. The consultant threatened me...

20cm of ileum to be removed this Friday - need advice!

You have about 7 metres of small bowel, and about 4 metres of Ileum so losing 20cm isn't a big deal. I lost 20cm at the end and the valve. I have to have B12 injections because of it, but that's absorbed at the terminal Ileum so you may not need to. Otherwise mostly fine, save the disease...

    Combatting Crohn's-related Nausea?

Often the case with me too. I found that forcing myself to eat would make me feel much better even though it was the last thing I wanted to do. Also, and this is a bit counter-intuitive, fizzy drinks helped.

    Strictures... what's been your experience?

I went from being told I had a stricture and that it was Crohns to having surgery 6 weeks later. The consultant said that they could try to treat it with drugs but in his opinion by that stage surgery was the best option. And I think that was the right decision as I probably would have gone...

    Operation/driving

I did after two weeks although they told me four. I was very careful and made sure I could hit the brakes without it hurting so thought I was okay. Getting in and out was still a bit awkward Different for everyone of course.

    Insurance and the Election

BTW it costs me £8.20 every 4 weeks for Azathioprine which it turns out is a little more than it costs, so they actually make a profit. By all accounts the US healthcare is very good for the people that it does treat, whereas we offer equally bad treatment to everyone. I have family in France...

    Insurance and the Election

I found out that Humira costs the NHS (UK) £352 per dose; that's about $850 per month. I've seen here and can find elsewhere that it costs more like $4000 in the US. It shows how much profiteering and middle men are involved in healthcare.

Sounds like Restless Legs to me.

Need a few words of encouragement, upcoming surgery.

Glad to hear it went okay-ish. Shows there's always risks to surgery.

    I hate fatigue

After a TI resection you should be getting b12 injections as it's the TI that absorbs the stuff. Ask. Not that it's necessarily a magic answer. I have the week off work ; hardly doing anything but still falling asleep early afternoon.

    Colonoscopy Question-Term Ileum

My first colonoscopy was the same. But by then I had a stricture and everything was messed up already.

Can someone with Crohn's Disease donate blood?

I looked into this recently because I wondered if I could whilst on Aza. Turns out I can't because of a. Aza, b. Crohns and c. Because I had a transfusion before my surgery due to being anaemic. I feel guilty for never having given blood and I feel like I owe the system at least the two...

    About to start Budesonide

I had some nausea the first couple of days after taking them but nothing after that. It targets the right place unlike other steroids so side effects should be minimal.
