    Long Time Humira User

I've been on Humira exactly 5 years now, mostly healthy (until now) despite one random obstruction/perforation that wasn't caused by a failure of Humira. I think I'm starting to develop tolerance to it as I've been in a flare for about 6 months, may be switching to Cimzia, but I'm grateful for...

    Doubled dosage--new side effects?

Thanks for the response! I have had the flutter with steroids, but not with Humira. I definitely pick up bugs easier--I am living with Staph permanently in my nose with 'flares' coming up every 2 or so weeks ever since I've been on Humira (5+ years). I have never had anything so serious as a bug...

    Doubled dosage--new side effects?

I just doubled from one 40 mg shot every 2 weeks to every week--starting on Tuesday. I have had a dull, weird pain in my back and/or legs ever since. It's hard to describe but doesn't seem focused in my joints and seems like almost my bones are what is hurting. I also had a mild panic attack...

    Hesitant to try SCD

Thanks everyone. I've decided to take it slowly and not make any big changes at first. Right now I've cut out dairy and started juicing (in addition, not in substitute to meals--just to get more vitamins). I just don't have the energy to focus on something as strict as SCD right now. Thanks...

    Hesitant to try SCD

So my friends and family are always encouraging me to change what I eat/try different diets. I am hesitant because with such a restrictive diet seems to come a lack of normalcy, need to explain in social settings, etc. But at this point I am SO tired of this I am willing to try anything. My...

    Fat Face Prednisone

Thanks! Sounds like I'm just looking forward to 15 mgs...April 16 better hurry up! Thank you for responding!

    Fat Face Prednisone

Thanks! I was worried that drinking more water might make it worse? It's weird that the peeing and puffy face are happening at the same time, but does make sense to get rid of excess water as I taper down. I would think the puffy face would have started before the peeing. Glad I'm not crazy!!

    Fat Face Prednisone

Also I can't stop peeing!! What is going on here? I haven't been drinking much. Anyone else experience too?

    Fat Face Prednisone

Just curious when my fat face would start to go away? It just appeared this morning. I did 40 mg for 7 days and have done 35 for 4...I will continue decreasing by 5 mgs every 5 days until done (or until the pain comes back!) I don't care too much about the puffiness--more curious how long it...

Not sure what else to do

You poor thing (I'm sure you hate when people say that). I'm 22 also and have had a bad time, but your story made me feel healthy. I missed out on a semester of college, but ended up graduating and am now trying to hold down a full time job. I don't think you should give up on your dreams...

    Finally time to introduce myself

Thinking about you! We have lots in common in terms of medicine, surgery, etc. I am 22 and have had Crohn's for almost 13 years, so I've done almost all meds. Let me know if you have any questions. I just joined the forum too, figured it was finally time to be assertive and realize that...

Have any other parents taken their kids to Mayo Clinic for second opinion?

Hey! I'm actually the patient myself, not a parent. When I was 16 (now 22) my mom took me up to the Mayo clinic in Minn from Atlanta. It was terrible and cold, but Dr. Fabian and his team were very helpful. They were the ones who put me on Humira, and I was in remission for years. It was nice...

    New Doctor in Atlanta!!

I've looked at the Doc reviews posts, but wanted to have an updated opinion if possible. I've been with Dr Booker Dalton at Piedmont for about 6 years but am absolutely fed up with the service. He is a good doctor and patient with me when he actually sees me, but it takes a month (not...

    New to the forum

Good idea but probably wouldn't help. I just recently started seeing a new GP when I moved back to Atlanta. My GI is really my primary care doc since all my issues are Crohn's related. Seems like I just have to tough it out 12 more days. I'm starting to lean towards having developed Humira...

    New to the forum

Thanks for the responses. Yesterday was terrible. I ate half a chickfila sandwich and some fries--I knew I shouldn't but I had a terrible headache and I thought it would help....headache got better but stomach pain was so bad I ended up going home from work early which I've never done before...

    New to the forum

So I was diagnosed at 10 and am now 22. I have dealt with Crohn's my whole life. Surgery at 12 (removed about a foot) then again at 20 (removed another food after bowel obstructed and then perforated). The second time I was in the hospital for 23 days, lost 15 pounds, dropped out of college...

    Not the ideal first post.

I don't know if you are religious, but please know that I am praying for you. I am going through a very rough time with Crohn's right now and decided to finally reach out and join the forum (this is my first post). Please know that your courage to share encouraged me to finally engage in such an...
