    When is enough, enough (weight)

As much as I grumble about the NHS, waiting times for appointments etc, it really does come up trumps with regards to the cost of meds and prescriptions. It costs me about £7 for 56 bottles of Ensure, lasts a month or so. I really feel for you guys who have to fork out a small fortune just to...

    When is enough, enough (weight)

I lost a lot of weight during a long horrid flare before my surgery. Ive managed to put on around 10lbs in the 8 weeks since the op by adding 2 bottles of Ensure Plus to my normal 3 meals a day (plus snacks....I love having my appetite back :D ) This takes my daily cal intake to around 2500...

    Crohns Denial

Had my first appointment with my GI today and its left me totally confuddled :ybatty: The doc said because my crohns was so severe before my surgery he would like me to be on medication to help prevent it reoccurring. TBH, I didnt realise I had severe crohns....I had super bad pain on my...

    6 Weeks post op' update

    6 Weeks post op' update

So after a brief introduction from me back in April, got loads of info from you guys, and confronted my surgeon over why I was having surgery and not trying meds first. My inflammation was too bad to be fixed by meds, scarring etc, so my mind was put at ease then that surgery was the best...

For those of you who had wound complication / complex wound from surgery

Eeek! Lots of conflicting 'advice' you've been given there. I too have an unwilling to heal wound. Had surgery just over six weeks ago, and around 10 days afterwards, thick, yellowy discharge was oozing from between my stitches. Rushed back to hospital and they had to unpick a few stitches...

Aww, thank David and Joan. I really really appreciate the advice and interest you've shown, so kind! I'd never been ill a day in my life before this struck, never stepped foot in hospital, taken an Anti -B, never even had a sick day off work. So maybe Ive been in some kind of denial/ this isnt...

    'Nuther Newbie :)

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome :) Have to admit, my head is spinning a bit after reading the replies :ywow: I feel like a bit of a divvy! Im so uninformed about whats going on with me, you just presume the doctors are acting in your best interest. OK, some answers to your questions... I...
