    Infliximab and Azathioprine?

Hello, I am 30 years old and I’ve been on Avsola (Infliximab) for 2 years for my perianal Crohn’s disease and it has saved my life. After being incredibly hesitant to start it (because I was afraid of side effects), I finally took it and it healed a painful fistulotomy wound in my anal area and...

Do I have to take biologics?

I was very hesitant to get on biologics when my first doctor suggested them to me. The fear of the side effects terrified me. I spent over 2 years suffering, seeing multiple doctors and getting opinions, refusing to get on biologics, until the point my Crohn’s symptoms got so bad I was in...

    Fistulotomy Won’t Heal - Advice?

My large open wound has healed so it doesn’t leak anymore. I occasionally get microtears which are more just annoying if they get wet in the shower but no leaking. I usually put a small cotton pad down there or diaper rash cream to keep moisture away so it won’t irritate the skin more

    Fistulotomy Won’t Heal - Advice?

Hi! It’s been a while since I’ve been on here but in August 2021 I finally bit the bullet and started a biologic, Avsola. After a year and half avoiding it, and 9 months with an open wound that wouldn’t heal, I was in such neverending pain from my wound I was afraid to eat and absolutely...

    Remicade vs. Avsola?

My doctor has prescribed by Remicade for my perianal Crohn’s disease. My Crohn’s is located in the anal area. I’ve had a superficial fistula that was cut open and is still not healing after 9 months. The anal area has ulcers and stricture. I feel confident the Remicade will help me and I’ve...

    Perianal Crohn’s Disease

Thank you for your response! How did the appointment for wound care go? I am very intrigued about hyperbaric oxygen treatment. However, the cost and time associated with it is insane. My colorectal surgeon is open to me doing it but I don’t know if I can make that financial commitment.

    Fistulotomy Won’t Heal - Advice?

I have perianal Crohn’s disease and developed an abscess in August of this last year. When the abscess drained I was left with a superficial fistula. My doctor performed a fistulotomy to “lay it open.” He told me because my Crohn’s disease is located in the anus that it would take a “long time”...

    Perianal Crohn’s Disease

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease almost 5 years ago. I am 27 years old and after seeing numerous doctors and given multiple treatments that were pointless, I finally received a correct diagnosis for my Crohn’s disease. Perianal Crohn’s. My symptoms are localized in the anus. Stricture...
