Appendectomy My appendix ruptured and I got peritonitis and a bowel obstruction. Appendix was removed and a fistula developed resulting in removal of the lower small intestine. That was when the Crohn's first surfaced in 1969. It re-appeared later in the rectal area after a hemerhoidectomy.
