    Do you work?

I have 5 1/2 years of college under my belt in which I earned 2 degrees by studying on the toilet... I always had great grades in school because I normally didn't go out often or for long periods because I preferred my toilet at home... I studied more than I partied during all of it thanks to my...

    Finally... others like myself!

lol YES! I'm glad you aren't afraid to get another opinion because I think staying with bad doctors for as long as I did really did more harm than good... Its so great to have someone working WITH you instead of AGAINST you... I was really stressed as a kid with childhood abuse but when it...

    Question about Colonoscopy Prep

I was in agony trying to drink that gross chalky prep I kept throwing it back up also... but somehow I managed to get enough down barely. But of course by the time it kicked in of course it went the same as everyone else... it's not fun of course but just remember why your doing it and it seems...

    Finally... others like myself!

Made it through work today! Had a really rough start and didn't get in as early as I had hoped for OT so I had to take a half lunch... overall though afternoon went a lot better. I really do think the meds and the really strict diet are helping. It's definitely not over but it is manageable so...

    Leg pain

I have the same problem! A lot of times at night I can't help but move my legs because they feel very uncomfortable... Someone told me I might be low on potassium so I have been eating a lot more bananas ever since and it does seem to have really helped me personally. Good luck!

Do you think stress is directly linked to your flare ups?

I agree completely with all of you that stress is a HUGE factor in my flare ups. Like Kaniela I use Marijuana to help with my appetitie, pain, and stress relief and it seriously does all three without all the crazy side effects from all these meds they put us on. I still take my medications but...

    Do you work?

I've lost several full-time jobs to Crohns and am currently at a job where I am only 3 months in and I've missed well over 3 weeks total... I just missed all of last week and I have to make it in all this week and work OT to keep my job. I'm still trying to manage my Crohns as I don't get in...

    Hello..Help..New

The first doctor I had with my stomach issues said it was in my head... the second doctor said its stress... the third doctor after having a bad reaction to a new medicine found inflammation in my intestines and colon that apparently only show up during a "flare up"... point being a lot of...

    Vapourize vs smoke

I've been smoking for 5 years now and it really makes sense to not smoke it but ingest it in other ways... Too bad I live in a state where medical marijuana is illegal... thus harder to come by other methods... vaporizers are expensive but I'm seriously considering!

    Finally... others like myself!

Thanks... I've been really careful with what I've been eating... drinking plenty of water and have basically spent all weekend babying my stomach so that I can make it to work early to try to make up some of what I missed. Hoping it's not too late for my job! I have a feeling that when I...

To Sleep Or Not To Sleep?

I was actually diagnosed with a sleep disorder before I was diagnosed with Crohns by a year... I wake up about 7 times an hour without reason... the sleep study I did showed I had enough oxygen but my body just kept waking up and this is why i was always so exhausted. Now I'm on Amitryptiline...

Did you have colonoscopy under general anaesthetic?

When I had my first one when I was a teenager I was under but I remember waking up during the procedure in SO MUCH PAIN!!! All I could do was cry and try to tell them I was awake... Luckily the second time around last year I did not wake up! *phew* Pam :)

    Finally... others like myself!

I am now back on Predisone... I was previously taking 40mg in the morning and 20mg at night for a week and then 20 mg in the morning. There was a communication mix-up in which my Dr wanted me to call back so i could go down to half a pill for a while but i instead just kept taking 20mg until...
