I can't deal with this crap (literally)

Glad to hear your doing better mate. I would also recommend using a belt. It makes you feel more confidant when out and about. It stops it from rustling and it's almost impossible to tell you have a bag, as it pulls it in tighter to your body.

I can't deal with this crap (literally)

Hi Mate I think the advise you have already been given is great. I just wanted to give you some support. I got a Stoma 13 months ago and remember how frustrating it could be at first, but i can 100% assure you your life is gonna be so much better with for it. I am a 37 year old self employed...

    Prednisone withdrawal

4 weeks from surgery now. I have moments where I have a bit of an appetite, more in the morning than later in the day. I'm in the uk and the stoma team have been brilliant. They visited every day in hospital and I have seen them 3 times since coming out. They give lots of advice about eating and...

    Prednisone withdrawal

Hi, thanks for the responses. All the flu like worrying symptoms seem to have gone. I just have a real lack of energy and my legs ache a bit, joints and muscles. I'm pretty sure this will get better over time and is partly also due to the long hospital stay, surgery and weight loss etc. As for...

    Prednisone withdrawal

Just in case anybody does read this it's 5 days since the last 5mg pred and since last night the symptoms seem to have pretty much gone. I just feel tired and have some slightly achy joints. Just thought I'd say for future info if anybody needs it.

    Prednisone withdrawal

Hi I'm looking for some advice. I'm experiencing pred withdrawal and wanted to know if I should be concerned or just ride it out? And if I ride it out how long it will go on for? I have just spent 6 weeks in hospital with a complicated flare on my terminal ileum, on a stricture with an abscess...

    Don't waist time with GP's

All my scopes are performed at the hospital under a specialist Gasto clinic. Once referred to them in the uk they deal with my condition. I find my GP is only there for caught and colds they are useless when it comes to crohns and so slow. Also to Samboi, I agree if your just feeling mild...

    Don't waist time with GP's

Just too also add, I am writing this in my hospital bed after 3 days of IV Hydro cortisone and the inflammation has gone from 360 down to 40. if I'd been given Prednisone and sent home I'm sure this would take longer. They don't want to let me go until I'm in the teens, when they will send me...

    Don't waist time with GP's

I aslo agree that the GP system in the UK is a lottery. I'm sure ther are brilliant helpful GP's, but alot of them are just useless.

    Don't waist time with GP's

I think to be fair after my first remission I got a bit cocky as a young man and dropped off the radar (stupid I know). When I fell I'll I went to the GP who asked me what I wanted to be prescribed. I just insisted on being referred to Gastro at the hospital. They have looked after me ever since...

    Don't waist time with GP's

This is the sort of thing I have noticed and think it is sometimes best just to go to a+e. This is what my consultant at the hospital suggests. You don't need to be referred that way. They will take a blood test and if your inflammation levels are up, keep you in and hopefully start you on IV...

    Don't waist time with GP's

Glad to hear that others have good support from there GPs. Maybe it's a bit of a glitch in the English NHS system. I have seen alot of posts from other members with similar problems. The help I have had once I am with the right people has been excellent and can't complain there. It would be...

    Don't waist time with GP's

Hi all, I am pretty new to this forum, but I have noticed a lot of people have problems with slow diagnosis and wrong treatment from GP's. I live in the UK and first saw my GP when I was 17 after my first flare up of Crohns. It took 3 months of being extremely I'll and losing 45lbs before being...

Prednisone how fast does it work?

Just a note to all who have to deal with GPs giving IBS diagnosis. I live in the UK and if you think you may have crohns or colitis you must insist on being referred to a gastronomic specialist at your nearest hospital as they are the only people who can treat you the correct and most efficient...

    Good side effects of pred?

I was diagnosed with crohns at 17 after going from a 140lb energetic boy, to a 95lb weakling with no appetite and very low self esteem. Once diagnosed and put on prednisalone my life changed so quickly. I had bags of energy within a matter of 1-2 weeks, loved eating food again and my weight shot...
