HI every one:
I am new to this forum. I have had CD for 28 yrs. I am from Hamilton Ontario. At the point now where the DR. wants me to have surgury. That dreadful BAG. He dosnt know what else to give me. Been on every kind of drugs out there for CD people. I call myself and some other people (cronies) because we have had the desease for so long. We are like die hard batteries (keep going and going) and never give up. (lol)Had a viris in my left eye called iritis. Dr. said i would have 85%chance to see again.Waited on the transplant list for 6 months. Had the surgury and about a year later the viris came back. Now just last week I have a cateract in my right eye. they have to put me out for that. They have to go in behind my eye and suck it out with a needle. Yikes more pain. Right now dealing with fissures that are causing me great pain. Might have to get that lanced. Yikes Yikes. The drugs that I have been on are pred; cipro pentasa methotraxate, remicade, folic acid, cholestyramine powder,VSL#3,fentynal patch, oxycodone, dilaudid, beclofen, gravol, lorazepam vitamin D and multi vitamin because my bones are so brittel from being on the prednizone for so long. I have a picc-line in my left arm because iI have no viens(Very hard to find)This will be my 6th one all the others got infected. Got very sick and high fevers with those.I have also been on TPN on and off. That is kind of like a food bag that feeds you through IV or picc-line so your bowels can rest One time I was on it for 8 months no food through my mouth at all.Gained 30lbs. Then at the last place we were living Didnt no at the time) the water was contaminated my CD got worse my boyfriend has IBD and my daughter has major headaches we all are losing are hair . The water had e-coli and cauli-form in it. Went to dr. after dr. to finally (after mths. and mths.)find out that it was the water. Couldnt sue any one because they had to find where the sourceof the contamination was coming from. I think it was the Grand River. NO-one wanted to take our case no-one woulld help us. Not even our mp, mpp public enviroment ministry of health,or lawyers. So we moved from that town as soon as we could. So much for that story. NOw my bones are brittle i have to take a pill called actonal once a week. Make sure that I dont fall. Because there is a good chance I could break my hip and I really dont want hip surgury.I have had enough surguries for right now. Thats most of my story. Thanks for reading and letting me join this forum.

Welcome to the forum Tammy!

First off you can link to your using this link:

I am sorry to hear that you have had such a go with your condition. I hope you are able to learn some more here though, as many people are able to live happy and healthy lives with a stoma and ostomy. If it will provide relief it really should be considered.

Aloha Tammy & welcome to the forum. Yikes, I just want to reach out & hug you! You've really had an awful time, haven't you. And the e-coli thing. I'm horrified. Has that community done anything about cleaning up their water supply for all the folks that still live there? Did others in the community rise up & demand accountability? Hard to believe that, with all the science we have at our beck & call, they could allow that to happen.

Hope you'll be back often, Tammy. You've found a warm community where I think you'll be making some new friends!

Thanks skeet from Hawaii for reading my story. It must be very warm there.I hate this cold weather,it dosnt help my aching bones.I wish I could move to Arizonia

Hot & muggy lately, but when the trade winds blow (which is most of the time,) we don't notice the heat because the breeze keeps it so pleasant. The worst thing in my neighborhood, when the trades die, is the stench. There are pig & egg farms in the valley & the miasma just kinda settles over us & makes it nauseating to even go outside long enough to get in the car & drive away, lol.

I must have been typing very fast when I first posted to you. How could I have missed that many typos? All cleaned up now, I hope!
