15 years in remission

I was first diagnosed with crohns in 1982, took prednisone, sulfer meds. and in 1995 had to have emergency surgery. Have been doing great for 15-1/2 years until Monday, May 23, went for my 5 year checkup and there it was again:devil: he said it is a mild case (inflammation and ulcers at the resection) and put me on Pentasa 500mg 2 a day. Will be having a CT scan on Tues. May 31 to check futher.

Hi elfgibson and welcome! I am so sorry your many years of remission had to come to an end. However, you can't complain too much about 15 years of remission - that is amazing - a crohnie's dream! But hopefully you caught it quick and can stop the inflammation in its tracks.

Sorry to hear that things have taken a turn, but hopefully you caught it early enough to get it under control with some mild meds. Good luck - hope you;re back into remission again soon!

The doctor put me on Pentasa and before the scope i was not have any diarrhea now that I have been taking this med. that's what I have now. :ylol:
