would like to no what it is like as i am kind of scared.....it is in less than two weeks away. Also they have asked me to bring a urine sample in a white topped bottle what is this for? thanks x

I don't know what the urine sample is for, but they seem to want it for new patients.
First appointment seems like so long ago now!
I remember they asked me lots of questions, and wrote a lot down. Its a good chance to tell them absolutely everything. They then started to talk about which tests they wanted to do to get a diagnosis.
It was good to be listened to and feel like someone was taking me seriously and knew about my problems.
I was lucky that I got diagnosed quickly once I got a referral to a GI.
Good Luck! And welcome to the forum!

I was already given the already needed poop smears and anal examins for hemerroids so i skipped out on those. They usually check for hemerroids and do smears to see about viral/bacterial infections. so my first appointment went by him asking me to describe my symptoms, how many times I go, what it looks like, ect. once he got an idea of what was going on he asked about my family history. after all that he began to explain what the next steps were and the possible diseases and things i could have. he also explained how the colonoscopy would go and set me up for an appointment to get that done within the week.

my second first Gi appointment i had been hospitalized and gotten medicine and so he just chatted with me about how bad my disease is how the medicine was working for me.

Hello and welcome to the forum. My first appointment was going through all the details of my symptoms andd how long I have had them etc. Thanks to having a good GP he had put in his referral letter that he thought I had crohns and the GI doc agreed based on what I told him. He put me on prednisone straight away to help with the symptoms and told me what tests/exams I would need to get the crohns diagnosis confirmed. I was a bit embaressed by the rectal exam he had to do but with a disease like this you soon learn to get past this. Overall the appt was really good and I left it feeling really hopeful that I was going to get sorted.

I have never had a rectal exam from my gi (Thank G-d). expect to tell your story and be asked a lot of questions. bring any and all paperwork you have. be weighted and blood pressure and if they do blood test there that to go with the urine sample. all the usual fun.
my gi physical exam is lying down with my belly uncovered and he listens to it with a stethoscope, tapping on it, and pressing all over. Good luck!

I don't remember my first GI appointment, but I suggest for you to write down as much as possible of your symptoms and any questions you might have. I often forget something I wanted to ask or an unusual symptom I have unless I write it down. And then I can write down the answers so I don't forget what the doctor says.

I'm with Linda, definitely write everything down, including all of your symptoms and questions so you don't freeze up and forget anything important. Some GIs check you "down there" and others don't. But I'm sure they'll want to set up a colonoscopy. Be prepared to be scheduled for tests, tests, and more tests.

Hemerroids has found to affect several people. People suffering from it face difficulties in performing lots of activities. Homeopathic remedies hemerroids is the most perfect one as there is not any side effect of it.
