5 days into Paleo-type diet. Diarrhea stopped dead in it's tracks

This is the first flare in a long time. I decided to try to change my diet this time around to see if it can prevent me from going back on medication.

After 1 day, the watery diarrhea almost stopped completely. I'm 5 days in now and it's basically the same. Unfortunately, I still cannot trust a fart. Any time I need to pass gas, I need to sit on the toilet, because a little bit of stool and mucus will come out.

Still seeing some blood from time to time as well, which is worrisome, it's been so long since I've seen blood in the stool (5 years or so), I need to get used to it again, (used to have the kool-aide *****).

Can anyone share their experience with going into a paleo-type diet during a flare? Any expectations if the occasional bleeding and mucus will eventually stop? Or is this diet just going to help with the diarrhea, but not help with the inflammation and ulcers?

I realize this is late. I am Sort of paleo, but with a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach. I eat everything cooked, and it's just meat, eggs, certain vegetables and fruits - salt, honey, and ACV are the only "flavorings". I have been doing this since october and so far I have been able to re-enter potato, sweet potato, avocado, eggplant, gf non gmo soy sauce, and olive and sesame oil.

Anyway, If you are very consistent with the diet, you should be able to see symptoms disappear. For me, it was the discomfort and bloating that went away first, then the constipation, and so on. It took me a long time before I could trust a fart again. Being on the paleo-ish diet can really help, but also make sure that they aren't irritants within that diet. You might need to do an elimination intro to heal your gut first.

Eliminating lactose and sucrose can reduce diarhea alot, this is the basis for the specific carbohydrate diet though. perhaps this is the only reason why you diarhea stopped. I've always had good control over my diarhea from following this advice however i do not eat any meat.
