Abdominal Spasms anyone

I have had crohn's of the small bowel for 20+ years now. I had two surgeries three years ago, one was laproscopic and then 9 months later I had a laparotomy due to an anastomotic leak. Anyway, I'm currently on Entyvio and methotrexate for the crohn's. Occasionally (more frequently lately), I will have what I refer to as an abdominal spasm if I'm coughing a lot or even having a bowel movement. It's right along my scar line on the right side (next to my belly button). Anyway, it cramps up and gets very rigid. I have to hold my hand over the area and put pressure and it eventually subsides...Right now, I have a cold and have a cough, so it's happening several times per day. The pain didn't use to be that bad, but earlier today it dropped me to my knees and took longer to subside.. I do have a call in to my GI but doesn't anyone else have this? I keep thinking partial obstruction, hernia, twisting of the bowel etc, but a lot of my symptoms don't fit. It's almost like having a charlie horse in your calf muscle, but in my abdomen...

Thanks for any information you can provide,
Angela

Hi Angela.

I get something similar. I've had it since my first surgery many many years ago. When I sneeze my guts feel feel like their being ripped apart. I have no idea what causes it or what's causing your pain, but I can relate to the pain you feel. It doubles me over and drops me to the floor.
