about to go crazy!

Hello :) I was hoping some of you might be able to give me some advice. I have not been diagnosed w/ IBD, but starting to wondering if this is what's been going on. It all started about 4 years ago w/ this pain in my lower right side that would go away at times, but also was horrible at times and I would get a lot of nausea.
I thought maybe it was related to my bad menstraul cramps, so went to a gyn and had laproscopy which showed nothing, but I was still diagnosed w/ endometriosis anyway (dumb doc? lol).. The pain and nausea continued to get worse. Then 2 years ago, I started noticing blood in my stool and was having more BM problems, which i have never talked to a doc about. then I had an IUD put in and ultrasound which showed my female stuff is fine so that's not what is causing the pain in my lower right side (for 3 years i thought it was a gyn problem)... also like 2-3 years ago, I started getting a lot of joint pain and some fatigue and about 6 months ago i was diagnosed w/ fibromyalgia because of it (and as you might know, there aren't any specific tests for it).... so... to sum it all up..... horrible pain in lower right side for 4 years, 2 diagnosis that had no real evidence, blood in stool sometimes and painful BM, constipation/diahrea& nausea but not all the time, and joint pain/fatigue... although my symptoms seem quite a bit more mild than a lot of yours, it sounds like a lot of similarities to me. I really really just want to feel better and I'm wondering if this might sound like chron's or IBD to any of you, any input would be appreciated. I am calling for a GI doc referral tomorrow, so hopefully i'll finally get on the right path...

Welcome to the forum.

Yes call your GI tomorrow and tell them you need an appoinment asap. If you are having pain in the right side, could be a stricture, joint pain normally follows with Crohn's, and fatigue goes along with everything in the intestinal disorder group it seems. Try to get a colonoscopy and some blood tests and see what's going on. Does it hurt if you touch your lower right side or anywhere else in the area. What color is the blood? If it is dark then it is coming from deep in the intestines if it is bright red then it is coming from close to the anus. Best of luck and let us know how the GI appointment goes

wow, quick response! it doesn't hurt pushing on the area, but it does hurt from inside sometimes (which makes it frustrating for both me and my husband lol).
and the blood is bright red.
i just don't know what to think. after 4 years of doctors brushing me off and looking at me like i'm crazy and telling me it's this and that and being wrong, i'm almost scared to try a new approach... but i know i need to and i've been thinking maybe i need to see a GI doc for like 2 years, but i now admit that i've totally been avoiding it.... it's not a very easy subject to talk about in person... w/anyone lol....

Yeah it takes a little bit of time to get comfortable talking about this stuff. It's an embarrasing part of the body to talk about. It's like, "man my butt hurts today." If someone said this you would look at them and be totally confused.lol

But don't worry about talking to a GI or us about your problems. We have heard them all and most of us that regularly post have probably posted something that most people would never talk about.

The year before I was diagnosed my pediatrition told me that my butt pains and stomach pains were all in my head. That I was just looking for attention. Oh how wrong was he.lol

omg I HATE that "it's all in your head" thing that docs do... I heard it so many times and it pissed me off! I know what i'm feeling and I know what my body parts are doing lol. that's just what they end up saying when they can't find an easy diagnosis to throw on you. and then they say "here have some antidepressants and it will all go away". it's so hard to find a doctor who will actually listen and actually cares. my gyn is really good, too bad it's just not the right specialty... funny thing is, i think she got closer than any other doc i've seen by saying IBS.. LOL..
I can't believe he said you were looking for attention... if my kid was in pain and a doc said that i think i'd have to punch him! lol

Yeah there was almost a brawl but he left the room rather quickly when I almost threw up on him and my dad looked like he was going to raise his fist. The funny thing, or maybe not so funny, was that I was literally blue. My face and complexion was of a blueish tint and I looked dead. I don't see how he could tell me I was faking it.lol What was I doing applying make up everyday and acting like I was going to fall over at any minute.lol

Good luck with the GI and if they say anything wierd then don't worry about getting a second opinion. I know several people with teams of doctors that discuss about that person together to make sure treatments go well. Research or ask on here about any medications he wants you to take and ask tons of questions. The more questions the better because you are the one whose sick and you need to know what will make you better and if you have any wierd side effects to the medications you want to know what they are.

Best of luck
