Abscess and groin pain?

I'm wondering if others who have had perirectal abscesses have had groin pain/burning? I know they are in close proximity and the nerves radiate pain. I can't wait to get rid of this damn abscess.

I've had a perineal abscess...it's extremely painful. Mine burst before getting to the dr. He prescribed me antibiotics and sits baths 2 times a day. It cleared up! Good luck!

They are extremely painful but its bizarre that my penis hurts. I tell doctors and they seem to just go on like nothing. Maybe it's normal and they aren't concerned but its a really unpleasant addition to this abscess. I don't have a UTI was tested for that.

They discount the pain? Thats ridiculous. Have they checked it at all? I would be afraid of a fistula forming there. I have read posts from men on the forum where that happened. I am sorry they are treating you so poorly.

Yeah they don't even look at it. It's like "yeah whatever pain, stop running my clock I have more patients" I am seriously considering going elsewhere.

nothing wrong with a second opinion. Are talking to a GI or a CR surgeon?
