Hi

Just wondering if there are any members here with active Crohn's Disease with no clear symptoms of active disease.

My daughter currently has none or very little symptoms of active disease.

Faecal calprotectin level is 398 and this is how we know her disease is active.

This is second time this happen since dx.

Hi Catherine, I think 300 range Is a warning sign that a flare might be on it's way, I hope not for your daughters sake, but iv had periods w active disease (only found out by scope) which then triggered a flare or one was just starting.. Iv noticed she's avoided biologics? At least she has that as a fail safe if need be.

Her highest faecal calprotectin ever was 610.

She seems very tired, we put it down to university, travel and working as a swim teacher.

Hi Catherine

I came out of a 20 year remission with a bowel obstruction then perforation requiring emergency surgery. Time in the ICU and a 5 week hospital stay. Surgeon found crohns.

So in short. Yes.

Yes. I only went to dr because I was so incredibly exhausted... found anemic and tests to determine why discovered active Crohns. No other symptoms. I would trust your gut on this... you don't always get the "typical" symptoms.

good luck!

Yes. My husband doesn't really get any symptoms - it was only found through colonoscopy, and the histology showed it was active.

I had simmering inflammation and fatigue for months without GI symptoms before ending up with perforation and abscesses. Crohn's can be sneaky, don't trust it!

We saw GI today, DD has asymtomatic Crohn's Disease. We are going to add another drug just waiting for the aza levels to come back. Still no GI symptoms.
