Hi! I currently have a rectovaginal fistula and 2 setons. Been in a bit of pain today and just looked and found what looks like a skin tag. Had a bit of a fever today too. I do have Crohn's and am on remicade. Do u think its worth having doc check? Have had them in the past with no bother, but being uncomfortable and having fever worries me a bit. Any advice would b greatly appreciated.

Hi Mooch,
I'd get it checked out. I have two fistulas and was told never to take a fever lightly. If I have a fever that doesn't go away I start making calls. You can have an abscess and not know.

Anytime you may have an infection while on Remicade, make sure to get it checked!!! I would call our Dr asap. My Dr always tells me to call just in case.Good luck!

Yes, to be infected while on remicade is not ideal. With your immune system being lowered on remicade, infection/abscesses tend to win.

I was recently taken off my Humira for a few weeks for this issue and have just started back up now that infection seems under control. Now with my new temp ileostomy and infection gone i'm hoping humira can now do it's thing!

I had something like that but it was actually a small hemorrhoid from all the swelling of my abscess... If your fever continues you should go get blood work done for sure to rule out infection. All the best!

Thank you everyone! I am going to my GP this afternoon as something just doesnt feel right. I dont notmally struggle with pain or annoyance, but it is really ANNOYING going to the ladies now! Not so much painful, but can definately feel a growth. It doesnt feel like that sharp pain from an abscess and looks like a HUGE skin tag. I think the setons might be rubbing on it too.
I had my last infusion 5 days ago and i am normally really good after them. Little drainage (this is my BIGGEST ISSUE) and to be honest there hasnt been too much of a change this time. Normally the first few days i clear right up and then about week 6 i start to feel i need my top up. Now i am leaking more feacal matter (sorry if TMI!) instead of the yellowy honeycomb liquid i usually get. I am scheduled for an Advanced Mucosal Flap on the 13th of next month and i dont want any issues before then, i only have a 13% success rate if things go well! Sorry, just getting worried now.

Hi Mooch,
How did things go with the GP?
Was thinking about your remicade... maybe you are building up antibodies to it and you should have a blood test for antibodies. Also, are you doing your infusions every 6wks or 8wks?
