As many of you know she has a massive hernia formed by multiple hernias from past surgeries and its forced her organs out of place. She was having a lot of pain everywhere tonight and it was starting to hurt more and more to breathe due to a lot of pain in her lower right rib cage.
She's got an IV going with pain meds and they are going to do a CT scan. Hopefully they'll find out what's going on so she can start feeling better soon.
Feel better Afidz! Even though you're alone in the ER we're all here for you! :ghug:
UPDATE:
Blood work showed an inflamed pancreas. She's being admitted. D: :voodoo: You get better now!
UPDATE 2:
She was told she has Pancreatitis. Possibly from the Asacol that made her really sick for the short amount of time she did take it or they told her it could be Crohn's related. She said they told her she needs to do complete bowel rest. Don't know for how long or if she'll have any other treatment.
Last I heard she was waiting for the pain meds to kick in because she was still in a lot of pain. Haven't heard anything since 5:20am and its 2:06pm now.
Hopefully she's had the CT and is doing well.
UPDATE 3:
CT showed a massive hernia. Well this we knew.
Showed she also has fluid in her lungs which might be a walking pneumonia.
Inflammation in the pancreas isn't as bad as they thought it was last night yet still there.
She's still in pain but they are trying to keep her as drugged up as possible.
UPDATE 4:
She seems goofy on pain meds but doing ok. Says she might be able to go home on or around Tuesday possibly depending on if the pain gets any better or not.
UPDATE 5:
Sounds like the pain is still pretty bad. Wish they could/would give her an epidural or something that works (she's given dilauded and morphine does nothing for her). Can't be painless for 30min at a time and wake up screaming. That's not right.
UPDATE 6:
She's more drugged up and doesn't seem to understand the concept of texting vs calling. I don't mind chatting, its cool. I always tell her messed up crazy shit to make her laugh. She was really thirsty yesterday cause they weren't even giving her water or ice chips yet she sent me a pic today with her hand in a cup of ice cream. She forgot she had it and fell asleep with it.
From what I could gather from her while on the phone is that the Pancreatitis is gone yet she's still in a lot of pain. She said it was a walking pneumonia and a UTI yet she's in too much pain for both of those.
Honestly I don't see why they don't give her a round of steroids since she's having major joint pain and other inflammation going on in the body.
UPDATE 7:
SIGH, the most annoying update of them all. The hospital she's at doesn't feel they can do anything for her since her surgeon is at another hospital (sounds like they are hinting that she go there instead but aren't sending her there like they should). Apparently they are going to give her a Picc line, then blood transfusion for her anemia and discharge her. Dunno when she's getting discharged, possibly today which is stupid. Who gets discharged the same day they have a blood transfusion especially while they're still in a lot of pain? It obvious to me that they haven't found the real cause of her pain yet and are throwing their hands in the air.
I told her to go to the other hospital where her surgeon is right when she's released but we'll see what happens. So far as far as I know she has not gotten a hold or her surgeon yet and her GI has not gotten back to her yet.
