As many of you know she has a massive hernia formed by multiple hernias from past surgeries and its forced her organs out of place. She was having a lot of pain everywhere tonight and it was starting to hurt more and more to breathe due to a lot of pain in her lower right rib cage.

She's got an IV going with pain meds and they are going to do a CT scan. Hopefully they'll find out what's going on so she can start feeling better soon.

Feel better Afidz! :D Even though you're alone in the ER we're all here for you! :ghug:

UPDATE:

Blood work showed an inflamed pancreas. She's being admitted. D: :voodoo: You get better now!

UPDATE 2:

She was told she has Pancreatitis. Possibly from the Asacol that made her really sick for the short amount of time she did take it or they told her it could be Crohn's related. She said they told her she needs to do complete bowel rest. Don't know for how long or if she'll have any other treatment.

Last I heard she was waiting for the pain meds to kick in because she was still in a lot of pain. Haven't heard anything since 5:20am and its 2:06pm now.

Hopefully she's had the CT and is doing well.

UPDATE 3:

CT showed a massive hernia. Well this we knew. :p

Showed she also has fluid in her lungs which might be a walking pneumonia.

Inflammation in the pancreas isn't as bad as they thought it was last night yet still there.

She's still in pain but they are trying to keep her as drugged up as possible.

UPDATE 4:
She seems goofy on pain meds but doing ok. :p Says she might be able to go home on or around Tuesday possibly depending on if the pain gets any better or not.

UPDATE 5:
Sounds like the pain is still pretty bad. Wish they could/would give her an epidural or something that works (she's given dilauded and morphine does nothing for her). Can't be painless for 30min at a time and wake up screaming. That's not right. :(

UPDATE 6:
She's more drugged up and doesn't seem to understand the concept of texting vs calling. :p I don't mind chatting, its cool. I always tell her messed up crazy shit to make her laugh. She was really thirsty yesterday cause they weren't even giving her water or ice chips yet she sent me a pic today with her hand in a cup of ice cream. She forgot she had it and fell asleep with it. :p

From what I could gather from her while on the phone is that the Pancreatitis is gone yet she's still in a lot of pain. She said it was a walking pneumonia and a UTI yet she's in too much pain for both of those.

Honestly I don't see why they don't give her a round of steroids since she's having major joint pain and other inflammation going on in the body.

UPDATE 7:
SIGH, the most annoying update of them all. The hospital she's at doesn't feel they can do anything for her since her surgeon is at another hospital (sounds like they are hinting that she go there instead but aren't sending her there like they should). Apparently they are going to give her a Picc line, then blood transfusion for her anemia and discharge her. Dunno when she's getting discharged, possibly today which is stupid. Who gets discharged the same day they have a blood transfusion especially while they're still in a lot of pain? It obvious to me that they haven't found the real cause of her pain yet and are throwing their hands in the air.

I told her to go to the other hospital where her surgeon is right when she's released but we'll see what happens. So far as far as I know she has not gotten a hold or her surgeon yet and her GI has not gotten back to her yet.

I totally agree. :( Something does need to be done for her and fast. Hopefully things will be beginning to be taken care of soon. Sure wish we could send her some real hugs and support...

I really hope they get her some relief soon it's not right that she has to suffer wih that amount of pain. Hope she starts to feel better soon x

Hi Crabby, thanks so much for keeping us updated. Please give Afidz all our well wishes. I do hope they get control of the pain soon. Its so upsetting to hear of people in so much pain.

Hi everyone! Thank you very much for all the support you guys have given, it puts a smile on my face :)
Crabby has pretty much covered everything as far as updates go, I am going to call my surgeon tomorrow and see if there is anything he can do or can suggest.
Thanks again. I will keep you all posted

Afidz I hope you are feeling better soon! I am so sorry you are in so much pain.

Oh my....thank you so much for the updates Crabby and thank goodness you are okay afidz! I hope you are able to get in contact with the surgeon and get a solid plan of action. :goodluck:

ACK! Best wishes.

I've never heard of pancreatitis from ASA drugs before. That's a new one on me. I got it from 6MP,though.

This disease is so individualized. Nobody heard of me having a paralysis with Imuran I've had the best doctors in the country perplexed over that. My point is Rocking-o react differently to different drugs just hope you'll do good in the long run.

It frustrates me completely when hospitals do things like that: it is obvious there is something wrong, but they discharge you when they shouldn't. They try to make up for their insufficiencies by giving more pain meds to take home but all that does is MASK the pain and the problem.

Hope you get admitted to the other hospital sooner rather than later afidz...take care of yourself hun!

I'm hoping you have been able to get ahold of your surgeon now?

Oh hun, I am hoping that you get some help for your pain and get feeling better.

I am going home after I get discharged here, its going to be at least 5 more weeks until surgery. Somehow I have to make it that long, haven't figured out how yet. one day at a time I guess. I am not sure if I am being discharged tomorrow or the next day, but I am going to milk it as mush as I possibly can. I went through hell trying to get this picc line in, I would really rather not have it removed tomorrow. On pain killers, hope this makes sense, have a good night!

Bless you lovely lady. Dont hesitate to go to the hospital ER where your surgeon is. Dont think you can manage somehow. I wish I could help you in some way.

There are alot of us thinking of you. :rosette2:

Yes I'm been thinking a lot about you lately, wish I knew it hospital to send you some flowers too. But I know that's asking too much personal information just know that I'm thinking about you.

Thanks again everyone for your support, I can't tell you how much it means to me. I am now in the comfort of my own home, but I have a lot of concerns that I need to address. I will be having surgery in about 5 weeks so hopefully I can get to feeling normal again.
Thanks again everyone :ghug:

Thankful to hear that you're back home and that a time to get you taken care of is scheduled. Wish it was closer so you could feel "normal" again. But, at least the time is coming:) Take care.

Glad you are home now Afidz. Just wish you hadn't had to go through all that.

Thanks to Crabby too for keeping us all updated.

good luck afidz. do you have anyone home to help you? you'll need to get some rest now. try and milk xmas!!! surgery can take it out of you a bit, you poor thing.

I live with my boyfriend, thankfully he doesn't mind taking care of me.
