Hi all,
I have had Crohn's for a little over 10 years. After having been on meds for the first few years, I had a colon resection and was 100% healthy until last year. I flared and ended up with a perirectal fistula/abscess. I have a seton in now for that which seems to be healing well, but I've been having abdominal pain. I've been trying to handle this naturally and I started taking the probiotic they sell at GNC the 50 billion and aloe vera juice. I had read that some people developed diarrhea with aloe vera juice, but I haven't. I do take Humira too, so that has kept my major symptoms under control. I drink 3 shots a day of humira.. 1 right when I wake up, once in the afternoon after lunch, and right before bed. I take the probiotic after breakfast in the AM. I have noticed a HUGE decrease in symptoms in the last week since beginning this regimen. I hope this continue to works! Thought I'd share!!
Best of luck to all & stay healthy!

Hi - my physician put me on Align, there is something different about it from other probiotics i read. I knew immediately that this was going to be a "good thing." I too have tried Aloe Vera juice but had a bad experience from it (or some combination of things I took with it) and am scared to try it again. I was drinking one each day. Tolerating well. Then I drank 2 on one day - I just love those little pulpy bits and this brand was delicious. The health food store ran out, so I bought the coconut water/Aloe drink and drank that the next day. The next morning as we were leaving for vacation, I had diarrhea (I don't generally have that symptom). Worried about the long drive, I stopped and bought Immodium and took 2 as per directions for adults. Horrendous pain all day leading to a call to the doctor to prescribe me pain killer out of town which was a chaotic experience in that small town. Ruined the mini-3-day vacation for us because the pain lasted on and off for 2-3 days and I didn't want to do anything but sleep. I think I might have had a tug of war with my bowel with those 2 things....I suppose all that aloe had a laxative effect and of course, I took Immodium so.....and no growley bowel sounds for a few days which scared me - I thought oh my God i have gone and killed my bowel!!! Soft foods brought me out of it...scared to drink any of that since. Maybe I'll give it another shot with the Aloe juice since you seem to be having luck with it. I have read that Aloe can irritate the bowel for some Crohnies.

I am having great results, too, using Aloe Vera and Probiotics, along with special Alkaline and Blood-type diets. Thanks for letting us know about your positive experience with these naturopathic supplements.
