There was a thread on here last year about that stuff. Someone was trying to sell their product basically but there's no scientific backing to the theory and in all honesty, its given many people with IBD/IBS diarrhea or more so for those of us who already suffer from it.

My dad got me some of this when I was first sick and they didnt know what it was, such awful cramps and pains..eeek!!

Only thing I do with Aloe vera juice is slap it on my hair!!

oops aloe vera juice not sounding a like the" wonder cure "at the moment, well if it dont work on my u/c I can try it on me hair!

:)

try a little at a time.. ooh it taste awful

see your in UK pete, its half price at Holland & Barret atm, £4.99 :)

Pete, put aloe vera into the search and then browse results, there are few threads in there about aloe vera in various forms that may be of interest to you.

Dusty, :)

Have you been spying on me? No, seriously though, that's about the only thing I got out of drinking Aloe Vera Juice for several months. It didn't help me at all the way I heard it could. Didn't taste too bad but it has a shelf life of only about 2 weeks once opened (and must be refrig'd) so after that it starts to go sour and bitter lol..

I actually like drinking a little bit of aloe vera juice at times...I do not drink a glass full just a little. I think it tastes good! They do say that it is good for you. I do not believe that you will see any drastic change if you are not feeling well though.

Aloe Vera juice is one of the best natural medicine. I had seen the Aloe Vera juice benifits. When i was suffering from low WBC then doctor had prescribed me for this one. Now i am feeling OK. Really fantastic medicine.

One of the delicious Aloe Juice brands I was drinking is "Alo" and it is very very tasty and has pulp bits in it that I love. My issue is that I got greedy and drank 3 of them in 2 days (one was a coconut water combo) and it created some issues for me. But I had been drinking it - no more than one in a day - for several weeks with no problems before I had this particular issue. Could have been the coconut water or could be I just drank too many. I don't suffer from D--- perhaps that is why I can drink it. I have read it is helpful for Crohns if it is processed correctly and doesn't contain the D-producing latex of the plant. Alo is a good brand.

Did your physician suggest that? It is pricey, but it makes sense to me and I viewed the positive buzz on the website. Do you take 3 per day?

I drink Aloe Vera Juice and also use the gel for washing my hair and for skin hydration. Using gel as a shampoo results in clean, soft, shiny hair and a healthy flake free scalp. As a skin cleanser and hydrate it simply cannot be beat and it’s good to have a bottle on hand for sunburn and chapped lips. I keep a bottle of gel in the fridge to keep it fresh and handy. I get both my juice and gel from the same producer. It is certified preservative and chemical free.

Yes, it tells you to take 3 for maintenance, more if you are flaring. It sure is pricey! I found it on a website for Chron's, it's been about a year now I am not sure which one.

Are you guys not reading the older posts about how aloe isn't good for Crohn's, there's no scientific research that backs it when you ingest it and that its meant for external use only (there is scientific research for that)? The whole thing is a scam. Don't drink it and don't take the pills. Its a scam and many people on the forum have gotten sick from these hopeless scams.

Noted -thanks for the catch. The internet provides much information and sometimes we forget that anyone can say anything on the internet, it doesn't have to be true necessarily....unless it is a reputable site that can be trusted. It is confusing when you read that people are actually having luck with these products. I will run things by my doctor going forward. My GI knew nothing about Aloe...yea or nea

I hate it when this happens. You have the senior members who will step in to the noobies posting and scold them. They just get excited because they are doing well with the product and are on fire to share with the world. I get it. I was on a rosacea forum once and was having luck with a particular thing and mentioned how good it was working for me and someone jumped down my throat and I never returned. It was a learning experience to be responsible with my statements and I see a reason for it -- but it should always be said nicely.

Some of the people on the forum are trying to sell products and we watch out for them very closely as often times miracle cures are anything but and have made many people out there very very sick. If it helps 1 in a million, its not worth the risk of tons of people trying it and getting sick imo. Sharing that you are currently trying it is one thing but mentioning it multiple times or even sharing links to it could get you banned if its a potentially dangerous product. We aren't being higher than thou or anything like that. We've just seen too many people get sick from many different products out there and we don't want to "promote" certain ones on the forum.

Perhaps it was good or me because I don't have the D issues that goes with Chrons and it helped me actually with the C issues. I didn't know it was not meant to be ingested. How do people get away with selling poison as a health benefit in this country? It's in all the health food stores for goodness sakes! And it taste darn good in juice form!!! I was getting to really crave it. It's a crazy world out there.

There's a lot of stuff in health food stores and a lot of it is beneficial in some way or another. Gotta do a lot of research before you try any alternatives for an illness/disease though. Just because it comes from nature doesn't always mean its good for you. :/

another was colloidal silver, unfortunately a lot of people believe internet hype (which is unregulated).
Normally we are very cautious if the FDA have banned its use / advertising for what we use it for.

A lot of the people that have been banned having been given numerous chances as well but decided to act against them
